Conceding silently with a brief half-smile at the thought of Billie breaking someone else’s ankles, Alejandra dug as quietly as she could throw the cupboards in search of shot glasses that she knew were there somewhere. When she couldn’t find them, she decided fuck it to trying not to settle for drinking straight from the bottle. “Your room?”

“Shit!” Billie hissed as she lost her footing. “Fucking heels,” she kicked them off quickly. She hated the rare days when she felt more like a female—especially when she wanted to go into overdrive and put those satanic excuses of shoes on. Checking inside the paper bag to make sure that the bottle hadn’t broken, she called quietly, “The bottle’s okay! We got the booze. Cheers.”

Though she perked up when she heard Billie curse, Alejandra wasn’t alarmed. Protective instincts or not, she wasn’t going to make a fool out of herself by springing into action until she knew that Billie had actually hurt herself, something that she could clearly see that she hadn’t done. “Come on,” she grunted impatiently. “One of these days, you’re gonna break your ankle.”

Meaningless sex is great. I mean it. It really is. Don’t get all conservative on me, it’s just an opinion. It’s nice to forget the heaviness in your heart and replace with a light pressing in the small of your back. It’s easy to get high off someone else’s lips, and ignore that thudding in your stomach, that constant reminder that you’re far from normal.
