So first...hi. I am one of the two administrators of this corner in tumblr, which was created for more utilitarian reasons.
Might as well take the chance to introduce myself and our project at more detail now that we are here.
We have and by we I mean Retrofriki and I, well we have a podcast. It's on spanish unfortunately though one day I might decide I dont need to sleep and translate it.
It's is Brujas y Duelos where we speak about fictional stories that have witches and duels. It's a pretty self explanatory title.
We created the podcast to talk about Utena
Buuuuuut we didn't start talking about Utena and we started with Gundam the Witch from Mercury. It was half and accident and half carpe diem, as Tv Azteca started showing the show (and never ended! I am still salty) and I proposed Retrofriki to start with that show as a sort of pilot season (hehe, pilot season) Retrofriki was already a fan and I could come in as a person just watching the show.
Also the show is obviously influenced by Utena and we found ourselves being able to work with that.
We actually finished with that series by the way. We dedicated at least one episode of the podcast to each episode of the show and we even talked about craddle planet, a short story.
We are extremely dedicated people regarding fandom and maybe a little unhinged... I confess
So eventually we run out of Witch from mercury, even with special episodes talking about other things (as we try to be well rounded) and the moment to talk about Utena finally aproximates, and before Retrofriki proposed we made a content warning and trigger warning page, as a number of young people have been seeing Utena for the first time, and some even came by way of Witch from mercury.
And it has been kind of a shocking experience for them.
So it couldn't hurt to warn them.
I proposed to do a tumblr page dedicated to that, and mostly because I don't have a webpage and cannot remember how to do one and so one.
Tumblr was honestly the path of less resistance.
Well this page was going to be exclusively about the trigger and content warnings and related things... but I kind of didn't notice I reblogued a number of posts here that were supposed to be rebloged on my personal account...
By the time I noticed... a number had even had interactions, or even answers, hell some gave an extra life to old posts of retrofriki...
...So I decided to just leave them... maybe we could use the publicity.
The only but... as there is always a but, is that we might need an extra Content warning.
...For fans of Clamp... I might have unwittingly triggered all the ones that are still salty about X not having an ending.
Instead of just me as I might be the saltiest of them all...
At the end this might be more funny than concerning but I am still a little embarrased, yet again sorry, even if I am not removing it.
Anyways, after this we will upload the alerts as schedule and with any luck I don't misplace posts again. I do hope that you enjoy Utena with us had you decide to see it.
