I feel like Anthy is the type to get into internet arguments over taxonomy and/or heavy metal subgenres, but I'm not sure if she'd be more the "gets really angry about semantics" type or the "trolls by pretending to get basic facts wrong" type. Like, I could see her acting like that one Reddit biologist dude who was enraged by someone referring to jackdaws as crows, but I could also see her going on the Encyclopaedia Metallum forums and saying some shit like "Bathory is my favourite screamo band uwu" just to get people riled up.

I just think about Anthy knowing the fate of many women. She's as much of a warrior as Utena is because I think you need strength and resilience in order to be able to survive being belittled, sexually abused and reduced to a mere object that people want to own in order to show off.

I’ve seen many lists of Anthy variants or Anthy-like characters, and I want to toss my hat in the ring. Some of these have definitely been stated before, others I’m less sure of. Please note that Anthy herself experiences a very specific intersection between racism, misogyny, and homophobia, and while I draw parallels between her character and others, I by no means am stating that the bigotry they face is the same.
