Olivier smiled as he looked over at her, patiently awaiting her return. “Thank you, Alex.” He said with a nod as he took a sip, a smile coming to his face. “This is the best, you are right.”

“It’s made with love.” she blushed a little bit. she had a crush on him. “I am so happy to have you here while dad is out on a road trip.”

He smiled at the kiss to the cheek, feeling himself softening up a little. “And I know you’ll do a wonderful job of that. I think some hot cocoa would go over lovely to help us back to sleep.”

“I know how to make the best.” she smiled and went to the kitchen and made some hot cocoa and returned after a while with two cups in her hands. “Here you go.”

He smiled, understanding almost entirely where her worries were coming from, he was still working a dangerous job, and there were times he worried. “Hey, I know you don’t want me to get hurt. But if I do at least it will be because I cared so much about you, that I was willing to do anything to protect you.”

she pressed a kiss to his cheek as a thank you. “I’ll make sure to make you better if you get hurt. it’s the least i can do. but for now shall i make some warm milk or hot cocoa so we will be able to sleep ?”

“I feel I should thank your family for allowing me to be a part of yours, you make me happy.” He said with a nod, sweeping a strand of hair from her face. “I’m not a superhero, I’m just a man, hopefully that means I give you all the protection and comfort you need.”

She blushed by the words you make me happy but luckily it’s dark so it doesn’t show up. she started up at him. “You are a man with a heart of gold but please be careful i don’t want you to get hurt.’

“I can only say I do the best I can.” He said as he smiled, his concern being replaced by something nicer, a feeling of happiness, her giggle made him happy. “I think I can comply with that request.” He chuckled, wrapping his arms around her. “I’ll always protect you, no matter what.”

“You always know how to make me smile. Thank you for being in my life.” her heart started to race faster hopefully he couldn’t hear it. “You are like a superhero.” she laughed

He smiled lightly in response to her comment, shaking his head lightly. “No need to apologize, Alex. I’m just glad I found you, and not an intruder.” He felt a little awkward but moved closer, sitting beside her. “Is there anything I can do? I’m not sure I can really help, but I’ve heard I give decent hugs.”

“You are good in protecting me.” she looked up at him and let out a giggle. “Well maybe i’d like to order one of those hugs.” she placed her head against his chest and wrapped her arm around him

After a midnight stroll to the kitchen for a glass of water he was surprised to see a light coming from the living room, natural instincts kicked in and he followed the light source, every hair on his body standing on end when he thought of the possible threat. Relief flooded him, only to be replaced by concern as he heard her crying. “Alex?” He asked softly, not wanting to startle her, he creeped closer, picking up a tissue from a box sitting on one of the tables, offering it to her. “Is everything okay?”

She stared infront of her till she heard her name which made her shocked till she saw the face she loved the most. she smiled sadly and took a tissue. :”Thank you, sorry you had top find me like this.” she wiped her tears away. “I went today to moms grave and i just missed her .” she said

It was midnight and Alex couldn’t sleep. so she sat downstairs on the couch in the darkness looking at a photo album from her mother. She used the flashlight on her phone so she didn’t wake anyone as she softly started crying. “I miss you.” she whispered. @olivierpeterson
