She blinks, once or twice, rather stunned by the boldness ’twined within the girl’s comment. For the moment, she is actually speechless, a feat not many have accomplished throughout her own lifetime. And yet, a few more second pass and she regains her sense of self: calm, collected, and poised, though still remarkably confused. It is evident in her speech.

"you're stunning!" she says, with a zeal that shouldn't have been, she knew well enough by now that saying things as such to strangers faces-- despite being compliments, weren't always taken as well as she would have hoped. but the girl had an impalpable air to her, a deep-seeded spirit that alex didn't exactly recognize, but could tell was not of the world, and it called to her.
the girl did look kind of put off, though. so she felt the need to suppress her gusto. "ah, but-- yeah! sorry for running into you!"
