“get your grubby fucking hands off of me!” the brunette warned to the burly man who was ‘removing’ her from the nightclub she’d previously been having a decent time in before shit hit the fan and everything went downhill from there at a rather rapid speed. ma’am we’ll have to contact the police if you refuse to cooperate; the words made her blood BOIL. “call them, i’m on a first name fucking basis with half of them, and let me tell you jack-shit is going to happen if you call them.” her words were spewing like venom, features creased into an angered expression; especially after the male shoved her outside and a distance away from the entrance doors. “oh, now you’re just going to walk away? i’m fucking speaking to you, you ignorant asshole!” the door was quick to shut in her face, in which the slender female responded with an annoyed huff underneath her breath, turning her back to rest upon the surface while she figured out her next move.

“i’m telling you that because of this line it raises a red flag to hint that you are, in fact, a liar. so i wouldn’t have to cuff you, hate to break it to you.” the whole concept of the two of them sitting there and letting the conversation evolve these ways was baffling, to say the least. the disgust was briefly replaced with an odd sense of interest and who knew if they’d revert again. “i think that you need to accept that i would never like you. even if you weren’t an actual criminal, you’d still have this horrid personality.” but he was a liar, too.

“you really think i’m not?” there was an almost-laugh there, as if she was surprised he truly didn’t believe her. “i may tell little white lies here and there, but i am also always prepared to have a good time.” lips quirking upward into a devilish smirk with those exact words. “and i think we both know how i enjoy to have a good time, detective.” the further she got to the end of her sentence, the more she found herself leaning closer toward the taller male; right until she was practically murmuring the final word to him. “hm,” a thoughtful hum escapes her, lower lip forcing itself outward in a pout. “it’s a shame that, i think we could really have a lot of FUN together.”

his gaze dropped to her fingers pressing the badge against his chest more. “my accessories get me everywhere. the badge gets me respect, the handcuffs are just plain handy. though my cuffs will only be around your wrist if i catch you breaking parole.” he looked back up at her face then, sure his eyes were getting darker and having absolutely no control over it. “what can i say, hanging out with criminals brings out my immaturity. it’s why i usually try and avoid it. i wouldn’t be here if i really didn’t think i had to be.” but as his gaze flicked to her lips, he was contradicted again.

briefly, something thoughtful passes over her features, fingers withdrawing themselves from the male entirely. “so you’re telling me— if i was to start acting up right here, right now, or told you i was carrying some sort of substance on me at this very moment; you’d be forced to cuff me?” lips purse as a soft hum escapes between them, an idea brewing in the back of her mind. “wouldn’t that just be a shame?” with how intently her gaze was glued to him, it would’ve been hard to miss the way his eyes flickered downward on her features, a fuel to the fire. “you know what i think, detective? i think if the circumstances were different— you’d like me.”

simon, in the very moment, was aware of the badge pressed against his chest. a sign that maybe he should calm down in public, especially public places that are predominately for families. somehow, he’d managed to ignore it and ended up mere millimeters from her face. “i don’t believe abiding by the law and doing as you’re meant to is bullshit, but whatever you think.” he murmured, though with their close proximity she’d be able to hear him clearly. “no one said you have to be prissy to be good. that’s just one extreme. but you’ve got a lot to say about my type, hm? still hoping you fall into the category?” he had to pull back then, had to put a stop to it. instead, he kept speaking. “i think you’re the one in denial, actually.”

both slender shoulders come up in a halfhearted shrug at his first statement, a coyness taking form in the female’s posture as she does so. “not really— considering you’re not exactly my type either, detective. you see, just as you mentioned my anklet—” with a brief pause in her words, the set of digits that had been crawling over the expanse of his arm find their way to where the badge against his chest lingered, fingertips pressing into it. “i’m not to fond of your accessories. except,” gaze raising from where it had momentarily fallen to observe the badge, dark eyes reach his features once more. “maybe the handcuffs, those i don’t mind. oh, i’m in denial? way to turn it back on me, simon, that totally wasn’t a third-grader response.”

a long snort fell from winnie, her head shaking from side to side as her finger wiggled her roommate’s way. “ you and i both know it takes a whole lotta more stamina and cash than that man has for me to be into the dick, sweetheart, “ she said with a snort, reaching out for the other with open arms and a pout upon her lips. “ come on. of course you’re signed up, dumbass. you’re practically gonna be the stripper for him, anyways. knows he’s got the hots for you. “

“mm, true” she hums playfully, brows still quirked upward in a teasing manner. her lips upturned in a rather involuntary way when the other girl spread her arms toward her, instantly warranting alex to shuffle across the mattress and closer to where her companion was. slender legs found themselves wrapping around the smaller girls instantly    like two magnets that upon getting close enough, they clicked together perfectly; an unbreakable bond. “well if i’m the stripper i certainly hope i’m getting paid, or at least a tip. you know i’m down for anything, babe, but even THAT comes with a price.” a soft snort escapes her, gaze rolling to glance in the direction of her roommate as her arms curled around the female. “add him to the ever growing list.”

‘oh, this?’ she gestured to the pint of ice cream. ‘it’s half baked. it’s basically chocolate ice cream with chunks of fudge and cookie dough.’ alaska exclaimed, looking down at the container. ‘i heard rumors that they named it half baked because it was so popular with stoners, but i’m not sure if that’s totally true.’ she smiled lightly at the brunette, the stranger’s confidence radiating through her aura. ‘i’m actually new here, but it’s nice to know that even small towns have my favorite treat. makes it a little bit more homey.’

before the petite blonde had even began to explain the theory behind the name, alex’s mind had seemed to wander to that exact thought at the mention of ‘half baked’, an unladylike snort echoing from the taller figure. “well, i guess in that case it sounds right up my street    “ turning back toward the freezer so she could too grab herself a tub of the ice cream. “i figured,” bumping her hip against the opened door, she allows it to tighten to a shut once more, before proceeding down the aisle; all the while remaining to speak to the stranger she found herself now accompanying. “you didn’t seem particularly familiar and well    i like to think i’m pretty up-to-date with knowing my neighbors.” lips pursing in a firm pout, a thoughtful expression passes her features before she inquires something of the blonde. “why star hollow?”

“Alright, and what? I’m a girl and I squealed, it’s not like anybody would believe you if you told them.” Astoria shot back, childishly crinkling her nose at the other. The woman feigned a pout, “You wouldn’t do that to me. You’d miss me far too much if your horrid plan worked and I never came back.” She pointed out. Her lips twitched once more in amusement as the other tried to get rid of any spare spots of chilli sauce. Grabbing a napkin, she leaned across the table, using a hand to balance herself and the other to swipe the last bit that had somehow strayed to her chin. “All gone.”

“that’s true,” it’s almost a childish huff the words escape between, lower lip finding itself jutted out as if to add that extra dramatic flare. “but would i REALLY miss you?” humming playfully in direction of the older blonde, both her brows perk upward as if she was inquiring for a response. “maybe i would.. but i guess we’ll never truly know, since i don’t plan on ridding myself of you any time soon, tori.” as if in protest of the help supplied by astoria on her clean up, alex’s nose scrunches upward and a soft whine escapes the brunette; the duo could very much be compared to a mother attempting to clean off her young, objecting toddler. though, admittedly something warm spread throughout her at the older female’s caring action. “thanks, mom”

“i’m sure you haven’t. you were blessed with a chance to have a conversation with me to realize you have to keep looking around and praise the lord for how lucky you are and worry about how unlucky other people are. i’ve been told people can’t sleep at night because of, though i’m almost certain that there’s more reasons than me just doing social and opening people’s eyes every step i take,” arabella explained while playing with the straw from her drink. “ah, well. it’s definitely not just about that. i mean my job asks for a lot of beauty of course, but i also feel a lot better when i cut the unhealthy foods for a while, it cleanses my body and that’s a good feeling that lasts way longer than those 15 minutes i spend eating something tasty. though i’m not judging or anything, it’s what works for me and i obviously set a treat yo’ self day for every once in a while,” the female replied giving the other a small smile. “that’s a shame, though you never know what might happen.”

she was quite the personality, that was something alex made a mental note of. and so far, she hadn’t hit a bad note with her, which in itself was endearing— it could even be said she was enjoying the conversation between the two. “apparently so, who knew waking up this morning i would meet such an inspirational figure to our little town.” lips twitching upward into a teasing smirk as she muses toward the pretty brunette she now considered her company. “your job?” brows shift up her forehead as her voice takes more of a questioning tone, curiousness seeping in. “are you a model or something? i mean, it makes sense.” again, a single slender hand comes to gesture animatedly toward arabella. “i’m probably not the most healthy person generally— if my body was a temple it’d likely be the temple of doom so.” lips pressing into a tight, but small smile, a curt nod is a silent agreement toward the final comment she had to make— especially considering there was no way in hell alex was about to explain to the female what kind of situation she was currently knee-deep in.

after the ONE WORD left her mouth, the smallest twitch of a smile began to form on his face. but, he instantly wiped it away with the shake of his head. eyes watching her movements as he tracked her to the seat across from him. not necessarily inviting her, but it WOULD have to do if he wanted those fries. “well, since you’re asking, i could go for a milkshake and about ten million bucks?”

fingers clutching around a small selection of the now shared meal, the brunette had began chewing on one when he added to his list of requests. “milkshake, i can do     but if you’re really thinking i have ten million dollars for myself nevermind to give away, then i’m afraid you’ve got another thing coming for you. pretty sure if i had that much cash lying around i would’ve left the country long ago. but hey, if you ever get your hands on it i’ll surely take a sum of it off your hands.”

“if you were all better,” simon began, eyes staying trained on her face. “if you were the good girl you’re meant to be, we wouldn’t need it on you. but that’s just it — i don’t think you have it in you to know how, and when, to behave.” and it really wasn’t his fault, if you asked him. alex set the tone of the once discussion, turned whatever they could class it as now. but in reality, he was just as guilty, not trying to stop. not even once. “his gaze dropped briefly to fingertips dancing against his arm, before it moved back to her face. “since when are you an expert on what i’m into, hm? thought we already covered this.” again, there was a chance to pull away and put a stop to it, and it was another chance he didn’t take. “people are going to think this is something. something that it definitely isn’t.”

“fine,” the word is exhaled in a small huff, “maybe i’m more of a work in progress— on my way to being reformed, and all that other bullshit you cops preach about.” raising one shoulder in a halfhearted shrug, slender fingers continue to smooth their way over his skin. “never said i was an expert— it’s more just, a conclusion i’ve come to. you can bullshit to me about how i’m not your type, and how good girls probably are, but i think you’re lying, detective. you don’t seem like the type to satisfied by a prissy, little good girl. but as i said, just an observation.” briefly, her gaze breaks from him to scan over the diner itself, before dark eyes inevitably land back upon her companion. “or, they’re going to see how you’re looking at me— and know instantly that you’re simply in denial.”

it was almost as if simon wanted to contradict himself, leaning in closer to her. “could you possibly be anymore cocky? is it so hard for you to believe there is a person out there who doesn’t want you?” but maybe it wasn’t entirely true, he was comfortable with bending the truth lying this time. “i’m not a fan of people involved with drugs, and your cute little anklet just amplifies my dislike and disinterest.” he kept his voice low, and was almost too aware of just how close they were getting. “careful, someone’s gonna get the wrong idea.”

proceeding to further close the proximity between them, dark eyes didn’t dare shift from their restricted gaze on him. though, the words that fell from his lips weren’t exactly what she wanted to hear. “yes, actually, it is— sounds fake.” an amused hum escapes her, lips momentarily pursing thoughtfully. “oh but, i’m all better now. isn’t that what my little ankle piece is for? training me to be a good girl— though,” extending a pair of slender digits, she allows them to walk across the expanse of his forearm as she speaks. “i’m pretty sure that’s not really what you’re into, as much as you want to pretend it is.” brows perk upward, lips curving merely. “and what idea what that be?”

                grease coated the dark red rag that laid upon his small desk. it was EASIER for everything to be out in the open. that way he’d no longer keep to himself as much as he had two years ago. his dear mother’s suggestion had been to re-marry, just as she did and to move on. but he couldn’t. he  p h y s i c a l l y  couldn’t bring himself to and that had been made clear after a few quick dates. 

finishing his morning cup of coffee, he heard footsteps headed towards his direction. crushing the paper cup, he tossed it into a nearby trash can ( though he was never a good shot ). ‘ how can i help you ? ’ there was no smile on his face but there was also no hint of hostility as he stood up. his eyes bore into her’s. two years he had been a member of stars hollow but his comfort zone had made him feel like he was still in the big city         barely recognizing anyone.

normally, you wouldn’t find the slender brunette in a place like this      the fact she lacked in actually owning a vehicle being the first and only reason for so. however, upon getting sucked into doing a favor for an old friend, a greasy repair store was where alex found herself stalking into too early one morning. 

“i’m collecting a part     apparently, that is.” the female began, nimble fingers beginning to dig into the pocket of her torn jeans; until eventually digits wrap around a small, crumpled piece of paper which she extends toward the burly male. “all the information should be on there, which--  i wish you luck reading because the guy writes like a fucking toddler.”

it was near impossible to believe that the lead up to this part of their conversation was a mutual agreement of them not wanting that exact thing. an agreement of them not being each others types and being entirely uninterested, quickly turned into a conversation definitely not suitable for their surroundings. simon had to snap out of it, or eat his own words spoken a mere minutes ago. but he stayed silent, unmoving. his eyes trained on her features for more than a moment, before he dropped it. someone really ought to remind him of the distaste he normally fees towards her. “it is such a shame,” he began, voice low and smirk pulling at his lips. “that you’re nowhere near my type.”

there’s a falter in her own smirk at his words, something disapproving seeping through her once coy expression. “please,” the brunette huffs in disbelief of his statement. “i’m everyone’s type, and i’m afraid that you are certainly no exception— detective.” placing emphasis on the last word of her speech, a single brow quirks upward. “but alright, i suppose if you’re REALLY willing to give up all of, well— this” a single hand shifts from it’s place to gesture vaguely in the direction of herself. “then that’s your mistake to make.” despite this, she refrained from moving from her closely approximated position; as if she hanging on to the unlikely change of heart that may occur.

it was clearly a potential danger for them to be that close. it was a bad idea already with him sitting with her after he saw her, and his brain apparently just switched off entirely. his head leaned to the side as she spoke, and it was clear that maybe both of them had to start using their brains for good. neither of them moved, but his eyebrow did quirk up. “you know, i really don’t doubt that.” and that would have been the best time to pull away, lean back in the seat. he didn’t.

the lack of shifting in his posture was enough to keep the kittenish smirk curving against her lips; and considering he didn’t make a budge— neither did she. a soft ‘mhm’ hums from between pursed lips, voice remaining soft when she does speak once more. “well, if you did have any doubts..” the brunette girl trails off momentarily, dark eyes flickering upward to his features as she momentarily pauses in her speech. “i could certainly PROVE it.” it was almost ironic, the words currently tumbling from between her lips being spoken to HIM out of all people— the very male she’d spent the last couple of months cursing the existence of. though, maybe it was an act of selfishness, a last resort in hoping her charming methods may help her current case.

a single brow cocks upward in response to the kindness the male seemed to be sparing her. “it’s not mine, but i suppose i should probably say thank you on behalf of the owner.” it was a favor, or more like something she couldn’t turn down considering her boss asked of her to check in on their car for an extra fifty dollars since they were up to their eyeballs in paperwork. “i’m merely the messenger in this situation      but thanks.”

“We are a rare breed these days.” Natalie replied softly as she focused, carefully shading her cheekbones and filling in her eyebrows, it was a stylized realism, but Natalie was happy with the result. Resting her pencil on the table, she looked up to Alex once more. “You have never been drawn before? Not even by those weird street cartoon portrait artists at fairs?” As she took a sip of her drink, Natalie shook her head in response to Alex, “Oh no— I just figured it would be nice to know each other’s names. Hell I don’t even know if I’ll put my own name on the comic.” 

“ahh,” she drawls out the few syllables for a short period of time, as if she was deeply considering the redhead females words. “at least you didn’t give up on it, despite the fact it seems to be so     rare.” a single hand raises from where it had been toying with the salt shaker to gesture aimlessly, merely an animation to go along with her speech. “does that mean you actually make anything off of it, then?” lips pursing in thought, alex finds herself shaking her head. “not that i can recall, no. never was fond of the idea of some guy drawing me with my features overly exaggerated to the point it was just plain ugly. why wouldn’t you put your own name on the comic? shouldn’t you be marking your work    or whatever?”
