It's a big day in our family! Alice has been doing chores and keeping her room clean for eight weeks to show she is responsible enough to care for a pet. She achieved her goal with flying colors and now we have a young female betta fish named Lapis. Continuing the geology theme, Lapis lives in a tank among selenite, rose quartz, and basalt.

Big day: Alice's first major purchase. She bought a Pokémon card game with money she's been saving since last summer. She says to say, "Me and Laith love playing Pokémon together, it has a couple legendaries, so I'll probably win because I have better cards than him now." (at Target Store Omaha)

My babies! Alice in her cool jean jacket and cat hat with her dad, her auntie Sofia, her best friend Laith, and the sign he made, marching together, with FIFTEEN THOUSAND peaceful protestors in the little blue dot on the prairie. History was made throughout the entire world today because millions of people, in positive, compassionate spirit, collectively chose to rise up and say "We are together!!!"
