My first day of a three week Vegan Keto Reset. Trying to heal my gut after a year of pain, brain fog, etc etc.
For my first meal I made a salad of gem lettuce, (lots of) tahini, 1/4 avo, cucumber, hemp seeds, alfalfa, and dehydrated seed crackers.
I feel reasonably satisfied! Although I carb loaded last night knowing that I was going to be without rice, chocolate, bread... for at least twenty one days.
For dinner I’m going to make a “chicken” sheet pan curry but with tofu instead of chicken. It’s a recipe from GP’s cookbook.
Evening Notes.
I suppose, after a year of bother, I have to accept that I am living with chronic illness. Twenty-two has been a strange one. So many positive changes have taken place. I found jobs that I love, friends I cherish, I graduated, started a novel, read for hours and hours, and regained my period.
I’ve also dealt with pain, fatigue, disordered eating, and digestive issues almost every day.
In the past, I have healed from depression, insomnia, heartbreak, gastritis, surgery, broken bones and trauma. I can heal from this too.
I am learning so much about myself every day. This is my life, not something I can rewind, nor revert to factory settings. Everything I’ve experienced will inform every day I live from now on.
So many times, I’ve said to myself: this is enough. But I’ve always slipped back. No longer. I will feel different on my twenty-third birthday. I swear.
Yoga will get me through. Reading. Writing. Friends. Walks in nature. Water fasting. French movies. Beautiful music. Art. Stable routine. Creativity.
I will feel like myself again.
