Isn't it fun to think about how it all started with his helmet and it was all tied to WoL once he found them worthy enough to get personal with in several fights?

When Elidibus was puppeting his body on the battlefield, he had the helmet on, which is a weird choice given that every meeting Zenos had with WoL from a point on was without a helmet. But hey, Elidibus had no clue about blondie needing to look his friend his enemy in the eyes at all times during their heated duels.

It also feels like a sort of hmm...special treatment to get to know his identity right? Sure the Garlean troops get to see him without the helmet, but on the battlefield he always had it on. WoL proves to be a worthy opponent? Oopsie, all of a sudden he doesn't care to wear the helmet and shows up without it each time. He doesn't care about bystanders seeing his face obviously, he cares that WoL focuses on him while also personally showing his full interest in the fight. He's not hiding behind a mask or a helmet, which could very well also be a symbol of his boredom; why take off your helmet in front of some ant-like warriors who'll fall in one strike?

But for the WoL? Full attention.

I think it would be really funny if instead of thinking their son is some sexless shy virgin, the Hollanders think their son exclusively hooks up with puck bunnies and the reason he never brought someone home is because he's kinda a fuckboy slut. Like both Yuna and David are familiar with hockey culture and they're just glad that Shane isn't making headlines with his hook ups, or getting some girl pregnant, or even worse getting married and then cheating on his wife. He keeps his sex life private and so they don't have to talk about it. This assumption is all but confirmed for them when they start suspecting he is gay because of how straight people always assume gay men are promiscuous. Yuna is even prouder cause he's keeping his wild gay sex life so down low there's not even rumors. Her perfect media darling boy!
