Hey loves, I've officially decided to commence my first lifting hiatus. But before I explain any further, story time! I was just out with my mom just about a half hour ago. We dropped my brother off at his church's youth group, then we went to walgreens because she needed to pick up some stuff. When we walked in, I immediately noticed 3 new signs randomly hung around the beauty aisle. One saying something like "Store is monitored frequently by plain clothed security personnel." Another saying "Security camera video taping," And another saying "Monitored security camera." So I got the impression that my walgreens REALLY beefed up their security, specifically the beauty aisle, which made me fear that they may have caught on to my lifting. So we shopped around getting things we need, and I also noticed new employees all over the place. So I obviously was put off to lifting anything this trip. I was looking around the makeup, and I suddenly remembered this beautiful matte lipstick by maybelline that a friend of mine from school had, so I thought I'd grab just that one thing. But I saw all the other lippies (my weakness) and was so tempted to take more. I palmed 3 more and went back to my mom. After a little bit, I heard a man over the intercom say "Code 5, main." which scared the shit out of me and I got so close to dumping everything right there. And then, holy shit, I saw a big older guy with a large bulky jacket and a basket full of random shit getting really close to my mom and I and staring at me. At one point, I looked to see if he was following us around, and I made direct eye contact with him. I believe it may have been a plain clothed lp. It freaked me out so bad. When we were on our way to pay, I dumped everything that was in my pockets (besides the one lipstick I was holding.. hehe.) We left and everything was fine, but it was so terrifying for me that it was like, one of those reality check/ slap in the face moments. So, end of my story. I started to think really hard about this experience, as well as the other members of the community getting caught lately, and I feel like I currently can't handle the anxiety I get from lifting on a regular basis, and always knowing that just one slip up and I'm done. I don't want this to be another factor of my life to stress about. I just need a break. I need to stop before I get caught. I never want my mom to know about this side of me because she'll never look at me the same way again. I'm sure I'll be back to my old ways soon enough, though. I just want all of my followers and fellow lifters to know that I absolutely love all of you and the community so much. You guys are the sweetest, most intelligent people I've ever had the privilege to associate with. I wish you all the best of luck with this hobby, and I pray for your safety.
