My passion is photo philanthropy. My desire to help others and use art to make a difference has inspired me to delve into the world of Photo Philanthropy. Images have an undeniable power, and I want to harness that power and use it to better the conditions of living for those in the world who are not lucky enough to enjoy the luxuries many of us have been blessed with. ATX SQUARED

In the last two weeks, 60 of the Austin’s professional and amateur photographers contributed to the ATX Squared project organized by Julia Robinson and Austin Photo Night, with a mission to make images that foster and build bonds with the community.

The idea is to foster a community of local photographers by sharing work, swapping ideas and working towards community trusteeship.

Th premise of this project was that each photographer was given 4x6 block squares of terrain on the East Side in which to make images. That is how “ATX Squared” was created.

The goal was be for photographers to shoot their squares. Then photographers would submit up to five of their best images towards the photo project.

I must say it was an eye opening experience for me!

In my recent trip to #nepal we visited an elderly care facility (retirement/nursing home), to our delight we came across this four feet tall old lady that was full of joy and energy. She had this strong affinity to be in all the photos. In fact she would push away anyone else that wanted to be in the frame. Such moments definitely left me with distinct memories of Nepal.
