Aaron Burr, Sir is a song with a particularly complex historical chronology, as Burr, Lafayette, and Laurens weren’t in New York City in 1776, and Mulligan and Hamilton met in 1772. In fact, Mulligan probably never met Lafayette or Laurens at all. However, events are only shifted by a few years, so the color difference here is subtle (except for the cute anachronism of Laurens drinking Sam Adams).
