You can call me Ray ;) I am the master of delulu thoughts and I talk smack while hunting for lore. Sometimes Axe let me peg him left right up down front and back while calling him Hemlock. I'm very fluent in YAPanese so come talk to me about Dead as Disco hehe :p If you can't tell by now, Hemlock is my fav too <3 Dex and I are too similar personality wise and I need him 12 feet away from me 🤺 xD I have low tolerance for bull****. Everyone tell Axe how good his edits are rn!!

Hemlock: Throws hands with the cashier; doesn't matter if the pickle is in his sandwich or his friends'
Charlie: Doesn't mind pickles, and will walk up to the cashier and charismatically ask for no pickles
Dex: Talks shit to his friends about the pickles, will not confront the cashier tho; and if his friends decide to confront the cashier he goes "Forget it, I don't even like [insert chain restaurant] anyways"
Arora: Doesn't mind the pickles, will ask her friends if they want to swap their sandwich with her 🥺🥺🥺
Prophet: Doesn't care; "Finish yo shit lil bro don't be picky with yo damn food"
I have no music/artistic background but it's not gonna stop me from being delusional and talking about this part
The music before the cut scene felt angry and heavy with a tint of resentment. Then when we get to this cut scene, the way it cuts to Charlie looking up at Dex; imo he looked sad for Dex but also determined to get him out of it. Then it quickly shifts to Dex, literally held up by cables, slaving away :(. It looked like they were in close proximity but then it pans out to show that there's some distance between them. What if this means they have something to say to each other but neither of them knew how to approach it? I mean, Charlie was gone for 10 years, where do they even start?
When Dex lifts his head, he looks tired (refer to OP's image), but then his expression shifts to anger, it's almost like he's about to cry. Maybe he didn't think Charlie would get this far. Maybe he outwardly said he didn't need Charlie to save him but deep down, he was grateful that it was Charlie who put a stop to this, especially since he said "Finally, I can rest", when he's defeated. (More after the cut off, read the warnings)
The music at the cut scene itself sounded softer, lighter and a bit hopeful for a while so I think Dex was happy to see Charlie, even for a moment. The fact that the music went back to something harsher, I think Dex was angry because he moved on but then Charlie came back (it's like reopening old wounds) and that made him upset again, not exactly angry tho because the last part/phase of Dex music still has that hopeful tone in it.
I think Dex was fighting to deter Charlie from trying to get close to him again, he's trying to push Charlie away. It's not stated in the game whether anyone else reached out to Dex but I think he preferred to be alone anyways and he was fine being alone so why is Charlie back now?
Also also, "One soul for one night", I don't even want to think too much about this. Charlie can't just come back from the dead, fix his team, and adios. If Dex knew about this deal, I'm pretty sure he'd either be upset or disappointed, or both
Dex is a complex character and I can't wait to see more of him <3

I am projecting here, but I see the way Dex playing non-stop as self harm. I think Dex was playing constantly to take his mind off the death of his bandmate, kind of like a distraction. Didn't he said something like after Charlie died, he didn't know when he would be able to play those riffs again? That's why he joined Harmony so that he can play until he finds something that resembled what Charlie wrote? Dex doesn't want to forget Charlie, he wants to keep the memories of Charlie and this was the only way he knew how
Just from the music itself, I think Dex wanted to be told he could stop and take a break and that he had done enough, he is good enough, he is perfect enough. But he won't just take anyone's word for it. It has to be from a specific someone. "Oh he wanted to be perfect for himself", yes, I know, but it's not just for himself, is it? He's doing it for the band too.
There are posters/magazines of his accomplishments like 72 hour solo. Is that not an incredible feat? But it's still not enough for Dex. He's pushing himself to not hold the band back maybe

Y'know this is still by far one of my favorite little details in the Encore.
He was so itty bitty...
But it always brings to mind a question, why the hell was a 5 year old in a BAR of all places and also why are we measuring their height like its the doorframe in a family's living room? Who the hell bringing their kid to a bar this frequently, or at all for that matter.
On the topic of small details in the Encore however, this was another one that catches my eye and makes me think
If Stix is the only one behind the bar I can only assume he was the one to write this, especially since it seems clear that he always has graffiti and other stuff cleaned up around the bar yet this is still up, but who's "Her" in this instance? Is it related to the fact that a random ass child seemingly grew up here enough that they measured their height on the wall?
Maybe I'm just crazy but I love finding all the tiny details in stuff, so who knows, could be some wild lore here we might learn in the future, or it could be nothing and I'm just a crazy theorist with a lot of red string and loves connecting it to anything that seems feasible.
