A day in my life as a 3rd year tourism student at STI Ormoc. I usually wake up around 7am. Before getting up, I check my phone for a bit, and after 10-15 minutes, I get up and tidy up my bed before leaving my room because I don't like my stuff to be disorganized and messy. Then, I head to the bathroom to wash my face. After that, I apply moisturizer and sunscreen on my face before making myself a cup of coffee. I usually skip breakfast and just have black coffee (3-in-1) while scrolling through TikTok, watching videos.
I don't really do much after having my coffee since I'm alone here and I'm far from my parents, so I don't have any chores to do unless I have laundry to do, then I'd do that after my coffee. But if not, I usually go back to bed and just use my phone. Then, after 3 hours of scrolling through my phone, I slowly start getting ready for class, especially if my class is at 10am. I always make sure I'm done 1 hour before I head to school.
By the way, I'm currently staying at Camp Downes, Ormoc City, in the 802nd Brigade. I'm staying here because my first cousin is working here as an army officer. So, back to how I go to school... Before I head to school, I walk down to the gate where the tricycles are, which takes about 6 minutes. Just to clarify, sometimes my cousin drops me off at the gate, but I usually insist on not being dropped off because I want to walk for exercise – I just lie around in my room on days with no classes, and there's not much to do, so I sometimes prefer to walk to the gate. Once I'm at the gate, I hand over my ID, which is a gate pass for the camp where I'm staying, and it also has the name of the soldier I'm staying with. After that, I hop on a tricycle – it's just one ride from Camp Downes to school, or STI . My class starts at 10:30-12pm, and I'm usually there about 20 minutes before because I'm someone who hates being late – I'd rather be early than late. So after that one subject, it's lunch time. I don't usually eat rice; I just have 2 eggs, and I'll just buy water from the canteen and maybe some other food if there's something I like.
After lunch, we head back to our classroom on the second floor, and then we go back up to the 3rd floor for our next subject. Each subject is in a different room, which is tiring, and they're all about 1 hour and 30 minutes long – some are even longer. We're always hungry by 5pm, so if our teacher isn't there yet, we'll quickly go out and grab some snacks. My friends love street food, but I'm not really into it, so I'll just get a coffee, usually from 7-Eleven, for about 40 pesos. After we buy snacks, we head back to school, and after a few hours, it's time to go home. We head to the tricycle station, and unlike before when we'd hang out at the sea wall or grab food, now we just want to go home and rest. So after I get on the tricycle and arrive at the gate, I get my ID back, and I ask my cousin to pick me up because my feet are too sore to walk up.
When I get home, I immediately remove my makeup and rest for about 20 minutes before taking a half-bath. FYI, I'm someone who hates lying on my bed with my outdoor clothes on – it's a pet peeve of mine. I like to take a bath and be clean before I lie down. My skincare routine is: toner, serum, moisturizer, and lip balm to prevent my lips from cracking. Then I put lotion and body oil on my body, and finally, I use Sebu de Macho on my scar on my leg – I got it 3 years ago when I had an accident with friends. After I'm done with my skincare and body routine, I make myself a cup of coffee – I'm really addicted to coffee. Before I go to bed, I'll have a cup, and then I'll just scroll through my phone until 2am, sometimes 3am, and then I'll sleep.
