Lessons learned when traveling to Ontario for training in week 2:

         1. If you're traveling into Canada, regardless of how excited you are about your new job, DON'T tell the border agent that you're there for work if you're actually just there for training and won't be doing any work.

         2.  If you're a Canadian citizen, DO provide proof to the border agent immediately, prompting them to say "welcome home sir, here's your complimentary bottle of maple syrup"

Transitioning to a new job can be difficult.

My first adventure:  The Alamo

Back in July 2012 I left the cubicle and began to venture on the road for work.  A road warrior.  My first stop was San Antonio for training.  Little did I realize at the time how much this transition would change my life.  

So much time spent alone really changes a person.  Transitioning from someone who was constantly surrounding himself with friends to being alone most of the time was difficult, forcing me to find a lot about myself and what I want out of life but also causing me to lose a lot.  I found quickly that relationships are best kept through regular contact.  If you want to keep friends and you travel a lot, get used to using the phone.

Mission

So I've been traveling for work for almost three years now. I've been to many places, both for work and pleasure. And I'm finally documenting my travels and sharing my journey. 

My mission, is two-fold: to make every day an adventure and to encourage others to do the same.
