Would Lestat de Lioncourt (Interview with the Vampire, 2022) have a Cécile Rey doll?
Yes!
Maybe?
Nah
Cécile Amélie Rey is a well-to-do girl living in New Orleans, 1853. She dreams of being an actress and performer, and meets her new best friend, Marie-Grace, at singing lessons. When an epidemic comes to her town and endangers her family, Cécile works hard to protect not only the less fortunate, but her own family and friends.
Cécile was first released in 2011, as a duo with her best friend, Marie-Grace Gardner.
American Girl Life Cycle
Stage One - Newborn: Newborn dolls will be about 9in/23cm tall. Cradles and/or strollers are important for this stage of development.
Stage Two - Inbetween: Doll will shrink to about 8in/20cm and start to shift towards the appearance of the infant. This stage is rare and some believe it should be combined with stage one.
Stage Three - Infant: Doll will grow to 15in/38cm and begin to be able to blink. It is unlikely they will be able to stand on their own.
Stage Four - Toddler: Doll will grow brushable hair and begin to stand. This stage appears to be only for dolls born as twins; other dolls have been observed to skip this stage.
Stage Five - Child: This stage occurs at the approx. age of 7. Doll will slightly shrink from previous stage (now 14in/36cm) and temporarily lose their ability to blink.
Stage Six - Preteen: This stage occurs at the approx. age of 9-11. Doll will regain blinking and grow to 18in/46cm.
Stage Seven - Teen: This stage occurs at the approx. age of 13+. Dolls will either shrink to 9in/23cm with unblinking eyes and elaborate costuming, or remain at their current height of 18in/46cm; teenage dolls in the latter viewed post-2021 will sometimes have extra markings around their eyes. Current speculation is that the height change only occurs with dolls that live outside of what is currently known as the United States of America.

sometimes you just want to draw an american girl idk!!
If you're on StoryGraph (a goodreads alternative), a lovely person has made a list of American Girl historical books to read as a challenge.
Technically requests you read them in order but sometimes might not be feasible for people. Includes the newer Julie and the Blue Guitar, so I think it's pretty filled out. I'm slowly going to make my way through it (and see how many of these I do already have!)

Is this a bad time to mention that it has almost been 10 years since there’s been a black goty?? And she was also the only black goty American girl ever made and they over shadowed her with a white character/doll so much that people don’t even remember her being goty at all.
Doodled Summer!Kirsten this morning. I'm hoping to scan and colour at some point!
