I can’t really remember its was like 8 and half years ago, we were 19  or something. It’s very naive and overly sentimental - which retrospectively is quite nice. I just remember getting excited about the ‘you look so cool’ bit

the empowerment of women is the most important thing - for everything. The progression of everything necessary and positive

how does the songwriting proces happen? do you begin with a melody or lyrics first? and what inspires you to write the songs you write?

Normally starts with a conversation about a song that we love and why we love it. Then we kind of copy it and make our own version of it - whether we copy the musicality or the sentiment behind it differs. George will create something then present it to us and we go from there. Lyrics very rarely are written for specific songs - at least until very late. I just write randomly and then appropriate the lyrics to the songs later

Now that you've graduated from theatres and halls to playing and selling out large arenas, where's next for The 1975? Can we look forward to the prospect of a Wembley Stadium gig in a few years time?

Who knows! we would love to but we will also be returning to theatres and halls in the future we don’t just wanna play arenas. We will play whatever our show at the time requires. For the end of the ‘I like it when you sleep..’ era arenas are necessary
