Spent all day watching signings and trades on Puckpedia and missed what seems like a lot of high emotions if my dash is anything to go by. As for me, after letting it all marinate, I'm still Sharks down and have decided to just adopt the Nurse Shark into the circle bc why the hell not. 😂🩺🦈

You only like one of them solely based on their hockey and aren't interested pairing them with anyone → stay with their name as a tag and block pairing tags (and just maybe you'd find your people from somewhere other than Tumblr)

Very true, and it's not any better then what happens with Will. It's a lose-lose situation if you think about them as Will vs Mack. I don't pit them against each other, but I'm not blind to those that do.

Okay. I'm not saying it's not true, but this started today because of talk about Will being traded. I know ppl hate on Mack for the BC line/harem, and that's not any better then hating on Will. There are no winners in this argument.

Very true and this, of course wasn't directed at everyone, only the select few. I feel the same way about Will, ship him with whoever you like, just don't bring down Mack to do it. Also, neither of these men are victims and I don't see them that way. They are adults and have probably dealt with bigger stuff then who they are being shipped with and who on tumblr is saying they'll be traded. Like you said, it's not deep, it's fandom.

Exactly, you can ship Mack with whoever you want, that's all good, but you don't need to bring Will down or crap on him to do it. Like, why are you even in the WILLmack tag if you don't like the Will part of it?

I think people that fearmonger about Will getting traded just don't like Will or just don't like him with Mack and that's sad because Macklin Celebrini's favorite player, special player, is Will Smith Hockey.

mike grier a couple of days ago talking about smitty’s improvement, how mack is the exception to development, and how he is excited about all of the young players‼️‼️ basically he’s implying will is going nowhere! there’s a reason why mike grier is the gm and not sheng peng or some random twitter/reddit account💖💖

Okay, I've seen some posts for Will to request a trade or for Will to leave San Jose, but the reality of NHL contracts doesn't really give new players many options.

When Will's ELC (entry-level contract) ends summer 2027, he doesn't just get to walk. He becomes an RFA (Restricted Free Agent). Basically, to keep exclusive rights to him, the Sharks just have to give him a "Qualifying Offer" before his ELC is officially up.

Like, technically, yes, another team could try to steal him with an "Offer Sheet" (a massive contract from a rival team), but here is why that literally almost never happens: If another team gives Will an offer sheet, and Will signs it, the Sharks have a full week to look at it and be like, "Cool, cool, but we're gonna match it." And if they match it? Will stays in San Jose.

Ultimately, the choice to trade him comes down to the GM, not the coach. And I really think Mike Grier, despite whatever the fuck Warso is doing rn, actually meant it when he said he believes in this young core. And that core obvs includes Will.

tldr: The Sharks hold exclusive rights, they can match literally any outside offer, and Grier has absolutely zero incentive to trade Will. You don't trade away 4th OA 1st rounders in their 2nd season.

So rest easy my friends, Will and Mack are pretty anchored to this franchise (Mack's contract deal is the same), and to each other, for what should be a very long time. 💙🦈

I've seen some posts about Mack not becoming captain and a lot of the arguments against are his age, but I'd just like to point out the following: Connor McDavid - Captain at 19

Sidney Crosby - Captain at 19

Jonathan Toews - Captain at 20 It is not unheard of for generational elite players to be given the captaincy very early in their careers. Also, think about how Connor and Sid have both said that Mack is already ahead of where they were at his age not just in game but in maturity. I think he makes Captain next season and we still have the vets like Tyler and Alex as the As.
