â Donât you just love when you invest yourself in a conversationâŠand the person just kind of ignores you? I know I do. â
âPeople can be very RUDE, it comes with the job.â
Emerson laughed âNo, no, not a ghostbuster, I canât pull off a jumpsuit like Bill Murray canâ
"I don't really think anyone can, but it's probably worth a shot to try. Admittedly, I just think it'd be funny."
âRight.â Placing her hand on her chest, she glanced over at the golden blonde. âIâm Ariana. EnchantĂ©eâ
"Allison." She replied as she shifted in her seat, stretching her arm out for the girl to shake her hand. "Pleased to meet'cha."
âItâs a five star hotel. And I ainât afraid of no ghostâ he said with a laugh and a bright smile
"Wow, I didn't know I was in the company of a Ghostbuster. I admire your hard work and determination. But youâre doing a bad job here."
âI feel relief and disappointment simultaneously.â
"Better luck tomorrow."
âStop the elevator midfloor see if a hot firefighter comes to our rescueâ
"You're on." Allie said as she took a few strides towards the elevator. "It'll be the most action this place has seen in a while."
âBothering isnât the exact word Iâd use. Intruding is more fitting to the situation.â Emerson smiled at her request âWhat do you expect from a infamous haunted hotel like this oneâÂ
"I suppose you're RIGHT. But I was expecting a little... more normality, perhaps." Allison shrugged at his question, not really sure what else she could add to explain her frustration. "What made you pick this hotel, then? If you're so smart."
âI wouldnât say any more, you may inflate my ego too much.â
"Don't worry. I've reached my limit for the day."
Tilting her head slightly, Ariana nodded. â I see. Canât say I havenât heard that before, but compliments are hard to muscle out of this place, so thank you.â
"You're welcome. I don't give them out a lot, glad you appreciate it."
âYouâre staring.â The blonde raised her eyebrow towards the other as she sat back.
"You're PRETTY. Take my rudeness as a compliment."
âItâs midnight, what do you want?âÂ
"You're obviously awake, so don't act like I'm bothering you. I just want some normal conversation. Everyone wants to talk about ghosts."
âI dare you!â
"Dare me to WHAT, exactly?"
âIt happens every day. Well itâs because I kind of do it tooâ
A dead-pan expression stayed on Allie's face as she took in the blonde's words. She wanted to LAUGH, but she knew it was too rude to do so. "Is there something in the water here or what?"
âIf you must know⊠well, actually, I guess my memoir could be considered a ghost storyâŠâ She trailed off, letting her own thoughts on the matter float around her mind. âAnyway, donât you have something better to be doing than disturbing the writer at work?â
Since the day that Allie had arrived at De La Luna, she hadn't met one normal person. All she wanted was a normal interaction without someone making her feel like she was going CRAZY, but that seemed like it was going to happen any time soon. In that moment, she regretted picking at particular hotel. However, it's reputation preceded itself and she was on a mission. "What do you mean your memoir could be considered a ghost story? Please, for the love of God, don't start some kinda vanishing act. Trust me... I've seen two men pop in and out of thin air."
The sudden noise had startled her, but she didnât show it. All that could be seen on Wendyâs face was annoyance. Looking away from the keys on her rickety typewriter, she locked eyes with the only other person around - her eyebrow raising slightly. âWas that you? Cut it out, Iâm trying to be productive, it only happens once every few decades or so.â
"My bad." Allie replied as she looked over the girl and their setting. "Productive how?" She asked as she moved around the girl to look over her shoulder. Allie was known for intruding, sticking her nose where it didn't belong, but she didn't care. "Are you writing a good old-fashioned GHOST story? I can't imagine you finding muse for anything else in a place like this."
DALE stood on the terrace of the hotel, looking out at the storm that was chasin itâs own tail overhead. Â The sky was a bruised mess as the humidity of the day started to give way to thick rain and thunderclaps.
He took a sip of his whiskey and turned to the other.
âIâve had a headache all fuckinâ day. Â Iâd say this should cure it.â
"Hair of the dog, right?" Allie commented as she gazed out over the skyline, never seeing the Los Angeles horizon look so ANGRY before. It was almost soothing to watch and she could get herself getting carried away by the sights before speaking again. "It's pretty gross out, isn't it? I came to California for the sunshine and the beaches, and what do I fuckin' get? This."
