AGENT CARTER 1.02 “Bridge and Tunnel"
it’s never a normal temperature anymore it’s always some fucking bullshit
I need you young people to know it was almost never this hot when I was a child. Millennials and Gen Xers are all nostalgic and excited about summer because it was about ten to twenty degrees cooler to experience it back then!
I cannot express to you how FAST it has gone. I grew up in a world that does not exist now. We're starting on the path to reverse it, globally. You might not know how much solar has EXPLODED in the last decade or two. It's gone from a side thing, a weirdo novelty that was just Not Viable... to whole countries investing in infrastructure. but we have to keep fighting big oil and fascism everywhere we can in order to keep on this road to a new better less scorching burning earth.
But any time you wonder wtf the weather is doing- THIS IS NOT NORMAL, NO. THIS IS NOT WHAT IT WAS EVEN TWENTY YEARS AGO.
Revolutionary Girl Utena “For Friendship, Perhaps”
Do you know? Do you know? Have you heard the news? Study normal subjects, find a normal job. Fall in love normally, get married normally. Have a normal family, and have a normal life. But being normal has nothing to do with us! We're tired of doing all the things we've done till now. Time for us to go back to being what's normal for us. Do you know? Do you know? Do you know what that is?

I be running my fingers through my bush pondering ancient wisdoms
I remember one time I got INSANELY high off of edibles while playing Among Us, and it quickly became apparent to the other players online. I forget how honestly but literally anything "sus" I did was ignored by everyone because I was so fucking high. I tested this theory by standing in front of a body and the person that actually reported it didn't even mention me. The funniest part was when I was trying to do wires, I kept fucking up over and over again, so I was just standing in front of wires for actual minutes trying to figure it out. A small crowd of players gathered around me to watch and would get mad every time someone reported a body or emergency meeting because "she's never going to get her tasks done if you keep interrupting them." I don't think anyone cared about winning at that point, they just wanted to see the high crew mate succeed in her tasks.
THIS IS 1000% ACCURATE LMFAO. Thank you op
Ohhhh yeah
Ride or Die depicting a whole hostel of women utilizing social media and interpersonal connections to track down a man because they believe Debbie has been wronged by her ex-husband is everything to me.
Like yessss, leverage the bonds between women. Show off why women were specifically recruited for the CIA. Utilize the “every girl is best friends in the club bathroom” trope to help an assassin.
Im done🌹👰♀️⚔️🍪🩷
My drawings aren't getting likes on my main social media platform now, so I decided to move over here a bit👄
one of the biggest things I can advocate for (in academia, but also just in life) is to build credibility with yourself. It’s easy to fall into the habit of thinking of yourself as someone who does things last minute or who struggles to start tasks. people will tell you that you just need to build different habits, but I know for me at least the idea of ‘habit’ is sort of abstract and dehumanizing. Credibility is more like ‘I’ve done this before, so I know I can do it, and more importantly I trust myself to do it’. you set an assignment goal for the day and you meet it, and then you feel stronger setting one the next day. You establish a relationship with yourself that’s built on confidence and trust. That in turn starts to erode the barrier of insecurity and perfectionism and makes it easier to start and finish tasks. reframing the narrative as a process of building credibility makes it easier to celebrate each step and recognize how strong your relationship with yourself can become
god my favorite rgu scene has to be in episode 25 during utena’s duel with saionji when anthy pulls the sword from utena’s chest for the first time. the way it perfectly rounds out the metaphor for violation created during the black rose arc when the black roses were forcibly pulling swords from people’s chests, mirroring anthy’s place as the rose bride during the duels when she has to let her fiancée pull the dios sword from hers, and then flips it on its head, tells us: not only was utena unaffected by souji’s manipulation because of her lack of desire to take agency away from another person, but because of her willingness to offer up some of her own agency to protect anthy. she encourages anthy to take some of her power back and, in doing so, gives up some of her own, and is happy to do it!! she’s not angry or bitter the way the black roses were, those emotions culminating in the manipulation that would lead them to steal agency from others just to get theirs back— she smiles at anthy, at the knowledge that she was finally able to give her something that anthy would willingly take. like it’s actually a perfect scene and a perfect episode and a perfect SHOW you guys don’t get it
"Are AI generated images art" I frankly couldn't give less of a fuck. That's like an alternate universe question to me, one where we don't have to worry about the actual pressing issues, like AI companies literally destroying our economy and building the infrastructure of fascism.
Thank you everyone I'm so glad it's not just me. At this point the disproportionate focus on the "art" question sometimes feels like a purposeful distraction. Of course they want us endlessly fighting about abstract concepts that change very little while they build the panopticon around us.
I love art. Art created by real people IS valuable and worth preserving, and the devaluation of it is very much related to the rise of fascism. But the enormous role of AI in it already goes so far beyond that and barely anyone is talking about it in comparison.
dude i think i might be The Other
oh i hate them
I can't stress enough how much I miss StumbleUpon
StumbleUpon once sent me to a supercut of Lion King, Lion King 1 1/2, and Lion King II, the main edit being that the scenes of Lion King and Lion King 1 1/2 were interspersed so that they happened in the order they actually happened.
stumbleupon not existing anymore can be directly traced to a dramatic decline in my mental health, I could do a thesis on it.
bestie stumbleupon very much still exists its just called cloudhiker now. i use it all the time.
mini compilation of suggestions from the replies:
The Bored Button - "Press the Bored Button and be bored no more."
The Useless Web
Cloudhiker - "Discover the most interesting, weird and awesome websites of the Internet" (not really a rebrand, it's a different person running it but they have the same intention in mind)
Astronaut.io - "These videos come from YouTube. They were uploaded in the last week and have titles like DSC 1234 and IMG 4321. They have almost zero previous views. They are unnamed, unedited, and unseen (by anyone but you)."
Marginalia - "This is an independent DIY search engine that focuses on non-commercial content, and attempts to show you sites you perhaps weren't aware of in favor of the sort of sites you probably already knew existed."
