I've just drank my first cup of loose leaf green tea and I have a headache ._. Is that normal? I thought it was because it's helping em get all of this crap outside of my system...
A lot of the time, if you are drinking a higher quality loose leaf tea, the tannins in it tend to cause some headaches. I used to get the same thing and as I drank it more and more, it went away.
Hi I am a tea noob. What is best brand for jasmine tea or black tea?
We really like our Jasmine with Flowers. It's a great starter for anyone wanting to get into green teas, we think.

As for black teas, you can't go wrong with an English Breakfast!

there's an ingredient in some instant teas that is illegal some places? do you have any idea what it is? it's supposedly in Sarasara Green Tea but i don't know the ingredient list...
We don't do anything with Instant teas and haven't come across anything that says there are illegal ingredients in them. Who would want instant tea, anyway, right? Long live loose leaf tea.
Would it be cool if I submitted something to your blog?
That depends what it's about!
Drink tea.

Drinking Tea Could Help Prevent Several Chronic Illnesses
We've long known that there are health benefits from drinking tea. But new research out this week is saying that some teas could help prevent chronic illnesses. The antioxidants in teas are good for the body, but it was unclear what good they actually did until now. Two studies have found that drinking tea can help with the prevention of illnesses like osteoporosis and high blood pressure. Green tea was shown to help reduce the risk of bone fractures and improve bone mass. Decreasing bone mass is one of the leading health concerns for older Americans and can lead to osteoporosis. The study did not conclude that osteoporosis could be prevented but that the start of the disease could be delayed with improved bone mass. Black tea was able to reduce blood pressure in those with hypertension, or high blood pressure, especially before eating a meal high in fat. This is important and could lead to a reduction in strokes and heart attacks. Some other findings from the studies include that drinking green tea can help you burn 100 more calories a day and that tea drinkers tend to be more alert and perform better. Most people that 5 News talked to today knew that tea was good for you but not necessarily why. These studies were welcome news and one woman said that it's always good to learn about new ways that we can improve our health.b
Does Tea Cool You Down In Hot Weather?
Does Tea Cool You Down In Hot Weather?
NPR had a segment on that discusses the long argued claims that tea cools you down in hot weather. The idea behind this particular theory, is that the the TRPV1 receptor in your tongue send's signals to your brain, which will help you perspire and, in turn, cool you down. This is something that will probably rage on for years to come, but this piece by Joe Palca certainly gives us more food for thought. Click here for audio
Tea is as good as water to hydrate us.
Barely visible 30 years ago, bottled drinking water has become a "fashion accessory and a token of instant gratification and symbolism", said an Australian researcher, Dr Spero Tsindos.
But although our bodies need around two litres of fluid daily, this does not have to be water, and is often within food.
Flavored Black Tea
Black tea is lauded for its simple yet strong taste and also its enticing color when in the cup. However, there are those who are not afraid to try out something new on their palates. It is for this reason that many companies have come up with flavored black tea that still has the same benefits of tea but with a unique flavor.
The original flavor of tea is usually created while the withered tea leaves that have been hand-picked are turned for adequate oxidation. The additional flavors are added through flavoring oils which are derived from natural ingredients. In order to get the best flavored black tea, ensure that it was not flavored artificially using crystals or other additives that will hide the natural flavor of the tea and also leave a nasty aftertaste.
There are a number of flavors that are available. To begin with, in the US there are a number of brands of flavored black tea that are spiced up using orange and lemon rinds which give your tea that citrus flavor. Other flavors include blackberry, strawberry, apricot, strawberry, chocolate, cinnamon, pineapple, vanilla, ginger, lemon, lime, mango, peach, oriental spice and a host of many others. There are some gourmet flavors for those with experimental tastes like goji berry mixed with cinnamon, coconut grove, marzipan mixed with rose, French caramel, orange spice, Irish cream and a host of others. These are perfectly suited for all ages because there are at least a couple of flavors that tea drinkers can enjoy not only the taste but also the natural aroma given off.
Tea, whether plain or flavored black tea, has a host of health benefits that many can benefit from. These include the fact that they contain antioxidants which are perfect for keeping the skin young, keeping aging at bay and also help with detoxifying the digestive system. Black tea also contains vitamins and sedative properties which are great for keeping hormonal stress and anxiety levels to a minimum. The sedative properties help with headaches and promote relaxation and mental boosts. Black tea has been proven to reduce risks of heart attacks and strokes as well as blood cholesterol. Some varieties of black tea can also help to burn fat, soothing arthritis and also prevent tooth decay.
With all these flavors and benefits, it is possible to see why they are a popular choice with many people all over the world.
