Idk I’ll try to find the video I saw earlier.//Ah, the personal project he has been talking about for 10 years.// Probably his freedom 40 project - retire in 2027. It's almost there lol.

I hope someone asks when THs project will done at the next con// I don’t know about done but told me this past weekend that it was safe to say at this point that they’d start filming in July. Most movies take 2-3 months. So that should give you an idea

So there was no reason why TH couldn’t have been Sephiroth if he isn’t filming until July. VAs don’t have to spend too much time recording their lines.

I hope someone asks when THs project will done at the next con

I find these takes sort of ironic for a blog that ships Hobrien/Sterek 😭// as long as you have an audience that is sophisticated enough to understand that it's a fantasy take on real history then I don't see what the big deal is. The trouble is that there are people that don't have the kind of mental acuity to discern that. And there - I've said that thing on a Hobrien/Sterek blog.

to show an alternate history where racism did not exist//While I understand your point, that’s not realistic. And yes, TV shows and movies all have some unrealistic aspects especially medical shows. BUT I think it’s erasing history by what Shonda rhimes did for that show. She just wanted to show POC in power because she’s a POC herself while also erasing the books entirely. There were no POC with high titles. And she’s also gender bent characters to hit a LGBT quota as well which is also way overdone on that creator’s part. Im all for representation but don’t force it where it doesn’t belong especially in a show like this.

Also, if you are white, or coming from any place of privilege, it can be a little unsettling to see your paradigm shaken by alternate depictions.// If you feel this way over a TV show like Bridgerton, imagine what it's like for poc irl. And i wouldn't call the representation on TW great, but it wasn't terrible imo. Some fans just didn't care because it wasn't their favourite white ship lol

They've got the wrong Superman actor then, lol, how could they confuse the two. It definitely wasn't schedule conflicts because we know he hasn't worked on anything except cons for two years and his new movie hasn't started yet so it wasn't that. If it was because of his many vacations or con appearances, they would just be able to move the recording to when he was back home or he would've cancelled the con. I saw people saying he must've had an illness or mental health problem, which again isn't true because he's been doing cons every month with no problem for over a year, and the game creators wouldn't fire him for that, they'd just wait until he was recovered if he was sick.

The only one was BSnow, all his recent gfs have been new to his life, so no.// I don't believe even BS was a genuinely romantic one either. On TWG, there used to be a lengthy, multi-post that documented all the events leading up to their social media announcement of their relationship. It included TH's twitter posts to both KC and BS, but also how it was impossible, time-wise, for them to have actually met up with each other from the time of his posts until their 'waterfall' moment in Hawaii.

I'd always been suspicious of that, feeling that it wasn't really an organic thing, and being more contrived than anything else. The tweets went out in the fall of 2012 (this is from memory btw), that suggested that TH was shopping for a girlfriend. He'd spent the summer single, having been dumped by RBS in the Spring. BS and he were a thing by Feb/2013. I'd always wondered if his management had suggested he get a gf, perhaps for image building, and he actually went out and got one.

Years later, BS's interview convinced me that she must have been (naively) in it for the longer haul, and her references to him PR'ing himself everywhere they went suggested to me that his motivations were very different in that relationship than hers.

That's why I don't think TH was romantically involved with BS; 1) he needed a girlfriend, 2) he got himself one, and 3) he made good use of it as a good PR strategy.

Also, it IS hypocritical because POC are all for casting POC in white roles written as white in books in adaptations but the moment someone does the opposite, casting a white person in a character role written as a POC there’s uproar. If it’s ok one way, why not the other?// It's called reverse discrimination, and it has been a tool that has been used for decades, in all sorts of equalization strategies. While it does have it's merits IMO, I don't think it necessarily ensures fair and equitable representation, and often creates more division to an issue that it's actually trying to resolve. Just my 2 cents - I know this is a rather controversial topic.

As far as Bridgerton goes, I agree with your observation. However, I believe that was the entire point of the show - to show an alternate history where racism did not exist. Ryan Murphy did the same thing with 'Hollywood' - took artistic license and rewrote LGBTQ history to make it look nicer than it really was. Both shows were kind of jarring when you are looking at it from a historical perspective. Racism DID exist during the Regency period, and the golden age of Hollywood was indeed rife with LGBTQ discrimination - in ways far more severe than what RM portrayed. Also, if you are white, or coming from any place of privilege, it can be a little unsettling to see your paradigm shaken by alternate depictions.

Also, I always worry when shows do this, i.e. project a history to the public that is based in their own imagination and not the real events of the period, they are setting up a narrative of erasure (much like what Hollywood did with it's depiction of American history - painting whites as the heroes and NA as savages).

And of course, let's not forget TW's groundbreaking 'homophobia free' Beacon Hills(⸮). Where all you need is a decent body, and a fleeting, dead-end relationship. I'm sure that for some of the public - that's the lifestyle that all the 2SLGBTQIA+ aspire to build for themselves.

Did CH have NA too?// Yes, dating back to his great great great grandmother. He’s part Cherokee.

They've already recorded the character's lines apparently so what was he doing that he couldn't take a few weeks to do it? Seems weird to me.// Several people made the same point and the response was that it must be because of the movie with ND. Or that it could've been a personal issue like family. I think it's about money and i'm sure TH getting death threats didn't help.

There's no other reason really that he couldn't do it, he hasn't been doing anything else, only cons, for two years.
