Farewell

It is with this post I almost regret to inform you that I will be leaving tumblr. While many here find a safe haven from daily life within the many fandoms and communities located here, that has not been the case for me. My experience with tumblr has been akin to that of being picked last in gym class. Do not get me wrong, there have been many people on this website whom I will miss dearly, but I feel it is with a deal of maturity I must make this decision. Since being on here I have developed an eating disorder and relapsed on multiple occasions, including as I write this. There is also an issue and with the near constant theme of hatred on this website, and though never directed of myself, it has become entirely too toxic for my tastes. 

For those few of you who have read my works or short blurbs I’ve posted here, I will be going through my blogs and finding all my one-shot posts to move to Archive of our Own, where they will stay up, @All_The_Monsters on AO3.

Thoughts:

I did a fic roulette for my other blog a couple of months ago, but I have been thinking of doing one for this one, I haven’t written Glenya in a hot min, but I’d be open to it again.

so i recently found my way onto jatp tiktok and saw people talking about how they thought julie was in middle school during the first episode (because of the slippers) or even for the whole show. julie molina is fifteen years old.

while filming, madison reyes was fourteen to fifteen years old. the same age as her character. and people thought she was twelve.

and maybe, just maybe, this is a stretch, but maybe it’s because teenagers don’t play teenagers in shows and movies and musicals and this impacts how we perceive teenagers, which usually includes sexualizing them and giving people unrealistic standards for apperances, you know?

This was a very real problem I had for a while when I was younger, and still do sometimes. I had a hard time seeing myself as the age I was, cause everyone I saw on tv who was “my age” was played by someone two years older than their characters age.
