I actually have my own headcanon for this! Damian definitely does the cooking. Okay please nobody jump me but...I don't think Talia and Bruce are good parents.
Here is why:
Let's start with Talia.
I think portraying her as pure evil, and as someone who does not love her child is oversimplifying her character. She loves and cares for Damian. But love and healthy parenting is not the same thing...
Even if Talia was convinced, deep down, that she had to act the way she did to ensure Damianās survival, the result was that Damian grew up with severe emotional and social difficulties. As a mother, your Job is to protect your child from harm. She had the opportunity to hand Damian over to Bruce back when he was still a babyāAnd she chose not to. Damian was being beaten, tortured, emotionally and physically abused in horrible ways, but she keep him there for the first ten years of his life. She also didn't just decide to give Damian to Bruce one day because of bad grandfather Ra's. Damian had wanted to meet his father for years. But he was only allowed so after he had defeated her in combat. So I can't really give her any credit for that, and even if it had genuinely been her decision...Iām sorry, but that came a good ten years too late. The damage is already done.
Also, a good parent generally helps a child develop empathy and respect for others and I hope we can all agree that ten year old Damianā for all the love I have for himā did not have that. Wich wasn't at all his fault, he was juts a baby, in a foreign country, with people he didn't know and nobody was explaining shit to him. Talia prepared him for neither life in America nor for his father. She just dropped him into the cold water and he had to figure it out himself. Anyway, Damian was arrogant and a little asshole and he was struggling Immensee to form social Connections.
She is undoubtedly a tragic character. She has been through a lot of shit. Given the way she herself was raised, you can hardly expect her to be a good mother. In my opinion, she is a woman who genuinely loves her son, yet she did not break the circle of abuse...

I love writing Bruce as a good but flawed parent. Very flawed.
Bruce is emotionally unavailable, and I think that he was also just overwhelmed by raising Damian sometimes. All of his children, but I think Damian in particular, needs a lot of reassurance and safety, that is something Bruce, unfortunately, was unable to give him, even though he tried. Instead of a vulnerable kid needing guidance, like Dick etc, Bruce is confronted with a highly trained, aggressive, ideologically opposed child soldier. Bruce needed help, helping Damian and Damian needed a whole lot of therapy that he probably didn't get. Bruce is also not as affectionateāwhich is something Damian really needed. I just think that Damian was emotionally very neglected.
So yeah, it's againā he tried his best, but his best was not enough.

I think their relationship is very accepted by their families. Especially by Jon's family. I think Damianās family (especially Bruce) was initially rather opposed to the relationship, though more in the sense that Damian is his baby. And on one hand, Bruce is glad that itās Jon and that their relationship is stable, but heās still anxious about Damian growing up, moving out, and all that. Wich makes sense considering that Damian already went through so much shit.
Their biggest supporter is Lois Lane. She loves loves loves Damian so much. That's her son in law. And the second biggest supporter (please hear me out) is Raās Al ghul. Letās just think about it for a moment okay? Kryptonian genes plus Al Ghul genes makes super baby. Ra's began making a list of ways to provide the two of them with a biological child the moment he learned that Jon and Damian were together.
I think that, aside from the obviously homophobic people, they are actually very accepted by civilians, and to everyone it makes perfect sense for them to be in a relationship, considering that Damian is the son of Bruce Wayne and Jon is the son of Lois Lane, they are both the children of celebrities, so the connection makes sense. But I do think that their civilian acquaintances have a weird feeling about them, since the two of them are obviously very traumatized and you just can't completely hide that, but I think thatās the case with everyone in the Wayne family.

Heyyy, the answer is yes! However, I have to admit that I struggle immensely to stick with long fics, since I unfortunately lose interest incredibly fast. On top of that, I have diagnosed severe depression, which makes writing incredibly exhausting and hard, especially since English isn't my first language. So it can take months for a new chapter to come out, and that really sucks for the readers, too.
"Either way, we're not alone" is going to be a longer story. Right now I said it's going to be three chapters, but it will probably end up being around five. I'm also planning another multi-chapter ficāthough I have no idea when that one will be released, and that one is Jondami as well.
If you aren't interested in Jondami....A friend and I are also planning a Damian-centric psychological horror fanfiction. Definitely multiple chapters. Like 15 to 20? However, we're currently extremely busy trying to untangle the plot, since the story is turning out to be a bit more complex than we expected.

I actually don't believe Jon is such a vanilla bean. I think he can get real freaky if he wants. I mean ropes, toys, and sometimes being a bit rougher and shit like that. He is definitely a biter. I think Jon comes so naturally to me as a character because he reminds me so much of myself. I gave him a lot of my own personality traits and often have him act the way I would.
Damian, on the other hand, has many more layers and is so complex on so many levels that I really struggle to write him. (Fr if someone has any tips on how I can write Damian better, please tell me, I fear I hate how I do it in my fics and it's really bothering me.)
Anyways, here is whatās important to me regarding Jon:
I don't like it when heās portrayed as nothing more than a sweet goofball, whether as a child or an adult. Jon can have a real temper. Especially as kids, he and Damian were constantly knocking each other's teeth in. I don't know where the idea comes from that Jon immediately thought Damian was great and super cool and wanted to be his friend (It was actually Damian who wanted to be friends first if I dare say that). Especially in the beginning, the two of them did nothing but bicker, and even later on, they still can't seem to stop teasing each other. Jon can be mean, he can shout and get angry. He calls out Damianās bad behavior and doesn't just let Damian walk all over him. At the same time, he is very gentle, especially when he senses that Damian is upset.
Jon is also absolutely NOT a fan of Talia al Ghul, which is something that is very important to me. I think that the older Jon gets, the less heās going to like Damianās family. I know everyone is really on the "Justice for Talia al Ghul" bandwagon and she truly is a very good and interesting character who has been heavily misrepresented and writing badly. However, one has to admit that, even when written accurately, she simply isn't a good mother (I could write an entire post about this, if anyone is interested, send an ask). The same goes for Bruce. Damian has been left truly and severely damaged, both physically and mentally, by everything that has happened to him. I don't believe Jon could love Damian and like Damian's parents at the same time. Especially when you consider how Jon grew up. However, Jon knows that Damian loves his parents deeply, and he would never speak ill of them.
Jon isn't stupid, and in fact, he has always been very emotionally intelligent.
Now, let's turn specifically to the adult Jon Kent. He is not his father, and I think that scares him a little. He loves deeply, and he is very territorial. I truly believe that he would kill for the people he loves if he had to.
He feels that he is not allowed to give any space to the darker corners within himself. He must always be positive and good because he is the son of Superman. He always needs to prove himself and has a helper syndrome.
He bottles up a lot of trauma, frustration, anxiety, and depression, and isn't really able to talk about his own issues. However, he is very good at empathizing with others. He is also bad at seeing when other people treat him badly.
He missed out on a lot social (?) development because he was held captive and I think this makes him a bit naive when it comes to relationships, and he tends to jump from one thing to the next (not only in relationships but also when it comes to Jobs etc). He is also bad at respecting boundaries. Not because he means to overstep, he just lacks the understanding for when something goes too far, and you have to say it to his face before he gets it. Furthermore, he and Damian are very emotionally dependent on each other.
