Tobias knew he didn’t place Tina and Peter on the same level. He never had. Peter was the leader after all. Tobias had spent much of his time trying to impress the group as a whole, but he didn’t seek their approval the way he did Peter.Â
He was about to retort back, give another excuse, but then he caught her words. “Are you okay?” he asked, the question coming out with some sincerity to it.Â
Lilo nodded. Things had been rough. “Let me tell you never fall in love with your bully, I made that mistake and it was horrible.” Mertle wasn’t the kindest girl out there, she could blame Mertle’s dad for that. Especially after he divorced her mother. And her mother simply abandoned Mertle. She knew the girl didn’t have it easy, but to bully Lilo for being an orphan was a bridge to far.
“I regret my actions, I can say I’m lucky my method had a high rate of survival.” She couldn’t go into detail what she did, it was too difficult for her to admit to it. “But as you can see my bubbly self is very much alive.”
