Lemon party in Capri 🍋
I’m walking everywhere like this from now on.
Dez gets up extra early to cook a morning meal for Toree, just as a small way to show her appreciation! ♥
I always live when I see this. So adorable! 😍😍😍❤️
OH MY GODDDD
Some retail complaints from twitter this morning. I don’t think anyone can fully comprehend how stupid humans are until they work a retail or hospitality job.
I’d like to add on the people who ask a question, get an answer they don’t like and ask the same question in a different way to get the response they want.
I get stuff like this often enough at work, but that last one? There is one customer we have that does that so frequently and for so long (personal record with me is goddamn FORTY MINUTES of trying to get the answer she wanted) that we call her Circle Lady when she isn’t present.
Then there are the ones who do this, fail, and try it again with the same employees the next day.
Me: “For the drink, it’s [x amount] :)”
Customer: “I saw a sign that I get a free drink?”
Me: “For signing up for our rewards program, yes :)”
Customer: “Oh… I don’t have one of those”
Me: “Well if you sign up, you can get the free drink! :)”
Customer: “Eh I don’t want to sign up”
Me: “…” “…” “:)”
Customer: “I hate getting all those emails”
Me: “Oh, well you can opt out of emails, I can show you how :)”
Customer: “No thanks, I don’t want an account”
Me: “Okay… well the drink will be [x amount] :)”
Customer: “I thought it was free?”
Me: “:)”
Me: “It’s free if you sign up for our rewards program :)”
Customer: “I don’t want to sign up”
Me: “Then the drink isn’t free :)”
Customer: “You can’t just give me the drink?”
Me: “No, I can’t unfortunately :)”
Customer: “Why not? It’s only [x amount]”
Me: “If that’s not a lot of money to you, why don’t you just pay for it? :)”
Customer: “This is shit customer service”
Me: “:)”
Customer: “This is highway robbery, squeezing every dime out of people, you should be ashamed of yourself—”
Me: “I don’t control the prices, I’m just a cashier :)“
Customer: “—making a fucking fuss over a damn drink and it’s not even a large—”
Me: “That’s not my decision, I’m just a cashier :)”
Customer: “—and you bet I won’t be coming back here again”
Me: “How unfortunate :)”
I can feel the :) deep in my soul
I have never felt the :) so viscerally as in this post.
I havent even worked in retail and I feel this
Trust me. You don’t until you have.

A true story from my preschool days
I was an intense child
Honestly I think this is an excellent step for us as a culture and species but man a lot of older humans are pissed off about it.
also I learned about this project called “queering the map.” the idea is that in the past gay neighborhoods and gay spaces were very clearly defined bc it just wasn’t safe to be yourself anywhere else. as lgbt+ people become more visible and accepted many feel that we are losing our connection to those spaces
so every dot on this map is basically someone’s queer experience: coming out, meeting their future wife, seeing another gay man in public for the first time, anything you can think of that truly left a mark on them
it started in Montreal and is primarily English-language with most pins dropped in the US, Canada, and Europe, but there are people all over the world who’ve shared their experiences. it’s great to look at places near you but it’s also great to see that even people in places you thought were the middle of nowhere are happy with themselves and finding community and living their lives
It’s here and it’s SO SWEET?? Just clicking around it’s very personal stories, in first person and a lot of them addressed to a specific “you”, and sooo many in extremely poetic language. It feels like an art installation and it’s so beautiful. ;W; Thanks for sharing!!!
… there’s also a lot of really silly ones (like gay sharks in the middle of the ocean)
I looked at Jerusalem and immediately found two favorites for entirely different reasons.
Things I found from the queer community of japan:
It’s no secret to the Japanese that Shinjuku nichome is the gay district of Tokyo but about half the pins left there are for the same club in that area named gold finger. Definitely a place to check out if you’re looking to get involved in the Japanese queer community for whatever reason, it seems.
I have a sneaking suspicion this submission is a haiku when written in Japanese…
This guy got the scenic view I guess
Is this how people feel while reading deep romantic poetry because wow I’m moved.
Honestly the best feeling is learning we’re not as alone as we’ve been led to believe
These are all super poetic oml I appreciate every single one of them
There are none in my town. Guess I’ll be the first
I went to my old, STAUNCHLY conservative town and saw “There are a lot more of us here than most would think, past and present” and I nearly cried
The one closest to where I live is utterly heartbreaking.
“I’m safe. I never have to go back.”
I posted this on Facebook…the small Oklahoma town I grew up in has nothing so far, but two of my former classmates are happily married to their same-gender spouses, so I hope they can populate it a little for people who are still there and struggling.
Show this thread to ANYONE who says that kids are too young to understand how to fight against racism! People who do that are just making excuses!
