When their mother past away after a fight with breast cancer, their father moved them to New York where they made a new home. Their father died of a heart attack recently and Jacob went back to their hometown of Magnolia Springs to deliver his father’s ashes. Mason could have decided to join his brother in returning to their hometown to properly grieve the loss of their parent. I’ve noted in Jacob’s bio that Mason did not go to college and is the son who followed in their father’s footsteps and took over the auto shop in New York. He also has a past of boosting cars when he was younger and loves a good joy ride. Mason and Jacob used to live with their father in a small apartment in Queens before he passed.

Jennifer is Jacob’s first serious long-term relationship. They met in college (19) while Jacob was getting his degree in graphic design. She is the one who encouraged him to continue school and actually get his degree. She is also the person who got him into creating forged documents. She introduced him to a lot of social justice issues (protesting, marching, etc.)  and she asked Jacob to make a fake ID for her sister (can be changed to another family member or friend) and it escalated from there to the point where Jacob was forging legal documents for Jennifer’s family who were here illegally and various people with the same issues. Jennifer and Jacob both share the same morals, they both want to help people and have big hearts. They broke up after four years together because Jacob’s life was beginning to be a little too unsteady for her with his brothers dragging him into misadventures and his lack of ambition when it came to a real career. Jennifer’s career is up to the player and her reasons for coming to Magnolia Springs can be because she heard about Jacob’s father’s passing and since she knew the man during her four years with Jacob, she decided to make the effort to make sure the family was okay. Up to player if their break-up was good or bad or mutual.
