Oh I am In Danger for 4.4 because the trailer was enough to make me tear up.
I've been waiting for Stelle to lose control of the Stellaron again since 1.0 and I'm so excited it's finally going to happen but I'm also. Very Scared. I love it. Is it finally time to find out what Himeko was talking about when she said she had an idea about what Stelle was back in 1.0?
I'm also soooo intrigued about that sneaky frame of Stelle stabbing Kafka with Firefly's sword and the heavy implication that she also killed the other Stellaron Hunters. Is this like how Silver Wolf told Constance that they couldn't let her join because if she did she would inevitably betray them and become a Lord Ravager? Like, in every timeline where Stelle doesn't leave the Stellaron Hunters Something Happens that leads to her killing them all? Because I would be here for that drama.
rest in peace to these beautiful amphora style CGs that were genuinely one of my favorite parts of the amphoreus patches..
An old man and a kid he found and decided was his child. (I did this because father's fay was a few days ago, happy father's Day, bladie)
Falling in love!
If they never specify how Ichigo and Rukia met in the new Bleach novels there's nothing stopping me from believing that they met when one or both of them saved each other in a fight with some students from the other school and that somehow led to Rukia living in Ichigo's closet for a while.
I found out that they briefly met when they were kids and Ichigo went to the Kuchiki kendo dojo a few times and then it seems like they didn't see each other again until the first day of high school when Rukia beat up a bunch of delinquents who wanted to beat Ichigo up, so you know what? That's close enough for me!
I wonder if Ichigo still has that quirk he sometimes had where he's really bad at remembering people's names and faces because, even though he doesn't seem to have seen Rukia in years, he recognized her and remembered her name because of the way she speaks. He also somehow knew about her placing very high in a kendo tournament.
And Rukia also instantly recognized him and calls him by his first name with no honorifics for truly no reason lmao. I'm sure they only call each other by their first names (I'm assuming Ichigo's going to call Rukia by her first name) because it would feel weird to have them call each other by their surnames or with honorifics, but because now that it's just a high school setting and they haven't seen each other in years it's like. Why are you addressing each other in such a familiar way?
Rukia speaks in this haughty, old-fashioned way and it makes her so adorable. It reminds me of that Fade to Black thing where Ichigo remembers Rukia as having "a high temper and haughty eyes" and how much it made me want to die.
She also tells Ichigo that she has a lot to say to him and I'm just like, girl, what on earth do you have to say to someone you haven't seen since elementary school?
The new thing I'm curious about is whether Rukia was adopted in this AU. Ichigo narration mentions her being the dojo's master's granddaughter, but it's possible that she was adopted and he just doesn't know or didn't mention it.
There are so many variations of Rukia's backstory used in AU fics and I'm so curious about what variation they used in an official AU.
At the very least, if she was adopted, she seems to have been adopted very young, and Byakuya's father was still alive when Ichigo attended their dojo and is potentially still alive in the present?
Is Byakuya less emotionally constipated in a world where his father (and maybe mother) didn't die and he wasn't forced to take on a leadership position when he was still fairly young? How many years older than Rukia is he? I would assume two years for the sake of him also being a high school student, but who knows. Does Hisana exist?
Because Rukia's adoption had to happen when she was still a kid, it would be so wild if Hisana exists and is still Rukia's sister, Byakuya's only two years older than Rukia, and the reason for Rukia's adoption is similar to the reason in canon. I'm so in love with the idea of Byakuya meeting an orphaned Hisana when he was still a hot-headed brat and falling so hard for her that he got his parents to take her and her younger sister in. It's the romance they deserve after ending in tragedy in canon.
If Rukia wasn't adopted, I hope Hisana still exists and is Byakuya's girlfriend who's like a big sister to Rukia. Let me dream. I want Rukia to have an idyllic life in this universe. I think Kubo's only drawn Byakuya's father once and he has such a kind, gentle face that I fully believe he would dote on Rukia in this AU.
The funniest part about the chapter where Rukia's introduced is actually Ichigo trying to run away from Momo and being mildly terrified every time she catches up with him. I have a bizarre fondness for Ichigo and Momo interacting even though I don't think they ever did in canon because I remember them having some fun interactions in the musicals.
(Side note, I've realized that I watched so little of the anime that Momo's voice in my head is actually her musical voice and not her anime voice.)
Also something about Momo being a second-year while Ichigo and Rukia are both first-years. I just… It's so funny to me that in an official AU that gets rid of their supernatural age gap Rukia ends up being six months younger than Ichigo. She could have been a second-year like Momo if Rukia being older than Ichigo is as significant as some people like to pretend it is, but nah, let's just put her firmly in the same age group as Ichigo.
I didn't think Momo was going to be a second-year because I always considered her, Kira, Renji, and maybe also Hanataro to be in vaguely the same age bracket as Rukia, and the other lieutenants (minus Yachiru and Sasakibe) plus Ikkaku and Yumichika feel a little older than them. And then the captains (minus Toshiro) are Full Actual Adults, except Soi Fon who feels a little younger than the other captains but still older than the lieutenants.
Happy Birthday to Bleach’s best girl ❄️
If they never specify how Ichigo and Rukia met in the new Bleach novels there's nothing stopping me from believing that they met when one or both of them saved each other in a fight with some students from the other school and that somehow led to Rukia living in Ichigo's closet for a while.
I only played a little bit of the story last night but 1) Ashveil calling Silver Wolf "little cub" because they're both wolves is so cute, and 2) I teared up a little when Silver Wolf said Blade always goes quiet when it's just the two of them and he said she already knows what he's going to say. The only thing I can take away from that is that every time Silver Wolf has been like "Blade didn't say anything, but this is what he was thinking," what she said really was an accurate representation of what he was thinking.
The Stellaron Hunters group chat is so cute I'm going to cry.
My favourite things are
The pinned reminder to check in after missions so everyone knows you're safe
Silver Wolf telling everyone to come see Blade's cool new outfit and Kafka and Firefly immediately showing up to compliment it
Firefly buying souvenirs for everyone in Penacony wasn't a one off thing or something only she does, it seems they all buy each other gifts whenever they go anywhere
Silver Wolf mentioning Sparkle!! I want to see them interact in the story!
The way Kafka treats Silver Wolf being a little indulgent. and that she calls her "dear." It reminds me of how she called Silver Wolf "darling" in her original trailer.
It's clearly set after the 4.3 story and Silver Wolf is so upset about what Blade went through that she doesn't even want to think about it. And Blade saying they'll talk about it once they're all together.
With each Stellaron Hunter they release, they just keep making it more and more clear that they all care so much about each other and I'm living for it.
As soon as I started Blade's trailer I knew in my heart that it was going to end with him walking towards the Stellaron Hunters and it did and I cried! And then I cried again over it only being Kafka and Silver Wolf because Firefly's still recovering from Penacony!
I'm so excited for 4.3 because I want more Blade and Silver Wolf interactions.
The height difference 🥹🥹
Oh my god, Himeko's by herself, I think I can get Blade.
Silver Wolf's global passive preventing a crowd control debuff and how they usually (always?) demonstrated it activating when fighting Kafka in the official promo material is so interesting from a character perspective because ever since Firefly came out and she had the same "get dominated by enemy Kafka" achievement as Blade while Silver Wolf's enemy Kafka achievement was implanting a weakness on her, I always wondered if that meant she's immune to Kafka's Spirit Whisper.
Between the achievement and her global passive, I think it's not crazy to think she could be, at least in her 999 form, maybe base Silver Wolf is just resistant to it idk. I think she could probably still choose to be affected by it since Kafka's Spirit Whisper is how the Stellaron Hunters have some kind of passive protection against memory shenanigans.
It's so dumb but I was thinking about Himeko saying "I am Himeko, Navigator of the Astral Express — and your family" in her new character introduction and I just started crying lmao.
She has almost the same line in her original form, but she doesn't say "and your family" in that one and it's just such a sweet addition. It's a little funny too because Planarcadia keeps giving Stelle opportunities to call Himeko her mom, but she really is Mom. I almost lost it over her addressing her anniversary letter with "To my forever young one" because it sounds so cute and it's dripping with maternal affection.
There is something about Himeko being The Navigator that always Gets Me in the same way that Dan Heng being The Guard does. It's just such a core part of their identities, something they're so proud of being and I cannot handle it. Because then I start thinking about how Himeko asked Dan Heng to be the Express's guard because she felt he wouldn't have stayed with them if he didn't have a way to contribute and in doing so she gave Dan Heng a home and people he loves so much that the most important thing in the entire universe to him is that he can keep them safe and continue traveling with them and I'm going to fucking lose it.
I just want 4.3 to kill me with the Stellaron Hunter family and 4.4 to kill me a second time with the Astral Express family. I love how much the Trailblaze and Finality can both fuck me up.
And this is supposed to be about Himeko, but I mentioned the Stellaron Hunters so I need to say I cried over the new Cosmicon event and how cute Silver Wolf was in it and Blade showing up to be a surprisingly chill old man and Yao Guang knowing Silver Wolf is really worried about Blade's condition and Blade's diver's license coming up again lmao.
it is everything that a) Silver Wolf said Kafka and Firefly are also curious about whether he really does have one because of the glimpse into the kind of things they talk about during their downtime, and b) Blade promises to show it to her if he's still alive after Planarcadia. I just... the way Silver Wolf extracts promises for the future from Blade when all he wants to do is die is. So Much.
very ok 👍🏼
Regency Au Capter 2 😊
The side quest with Silver Wolf and Tingyun was so fun. I always love seeing interactions between characters you wouldn't really expect to interact with each other, the prime example being that Penacony side quest where Qingque became friends with Boothill and Argenti.
Silver Wolf and Tingyun are both so respectful and polite with each other, it's adorable. I've got Thoughts about how Silver Wolf seems to have gotten a little attached to Tingyun so quickly. She looked so sad when Tingyun said she had to leave...
I feel like Silver Wolf tends to be such a sweet girl whenever she shows up in side quests and events. She was so sweet to March in her training event and I remember there was a random event in it that mentioned Silver Wolf has always been kind to March.
She also called Stelle her best friend and I was like, wait, that's so cute. I knew it to be true in my heart, but it was so cute to have her actually say it.
Also, I still can't believe Skott is actually dead. It was fun having this over the top, mostly harmless recurring "rival" in the events and now he's fucking dead...
