Low Factor Interview#2
1)Where do you live and where do you travel most frequently? What is your relation to different imagined places at the same time? I now live in Montreal. But I haven’t decided which land of Earth is made for me yet. I travelled in North America, in the UK, and in Europe. Mexico city was one of my favorite places I’ve been to in America. Western Europe as a whole has stolen the biggest piece of my heart though. It’s only fair, as I might have stolen something from there too… In parallel - mostly at night - I live in the 5D. A blinding sun, an organic architecture, a meaningful and confusing place. 2) What kind of music do you like to listen to? I enjoy surfing on different types of waves. But I learned to dive through the dark and cold ones and I can never drift very far from them for too long. 3) What about the procedure? does it take a lot of canceling to reach it by permanently canceling things? or you keep the same energy from the beginning? This energy, the same I use to live, is like a sound: it goes up and down. 4) Do you want your music to have a specific style? or you rather let yourself be constantly surprised by things around you? My surroundings have contributed to either making me deviate from my erstwhile boxed thoughts or forcing me to come back to my roots. Both are a good thing. Then, there also are unanswered questions. And if I were to go by a specific style, it would take me a lifetime to achieve anything at all; because when I sit down to work, what I intend to do rarely gets through, I always end up with a result I did not calculate. But I follow a dotted line, the line of my own taste, which I can travel left and right. 5) How important is for you today the act of putting a cassette into a machine? It’s a great pleasure which I am not alone to experience. And that is important. A simple and brilliant invention. 6) What is your relation towards time and memory ? Through constant time travelling and memory loss, it’s mostly a house-of-quarrel relationship; with a donjon provided with a small window on utopia and aspiration. 7) What are your fears at the moment? And what are your dreams? The unknown of the future. I both fear and dream of it. 8) What are the circumstances you find yourself most disorientated in? The lack of self-confidence gets me lost. It’s like putting a hand before my eyes while spinning around until I convince myself that I disappeared. When I finally open my eyes, I don’t know where I am anymore. 9) What motivates you to keep creating? I feel useless to my own existence and I get in a very bad mood when I don’t create
