Cant tell if this is a sex repulsed thing or like a normal thing that fandoms are just wierd about but I think its high-key wierd when fans are tying to "find secret sex scenes" in children's cartoons?
Like the "secret Yasammy sex scene" in season 2 of Chaos Theory annoyed me because a particular user (who is now blocked) would comment on all my posts mentioning the "secret Yasammy sex scene."
This is a Y7 rated show.... the writers are not sneaking a LGBT sex scene into this show... why are you treating it like its a cannon point? And commenting on other people's posts about it.
Like wanna make a joke fine, the characters themselves are well within their 20s but like... its wierd that some of ya'll take it so seriously as if there was legitimately clues that Yasammy just... did it in the middle of them be stranded? Like hello?
But now we got people talking about when Aang and Katara f!cked via movie scene because the writers mentioned toying with the idea of revealing Katara's pregnancy. But like... why are ya'll trying so hard to find a scene that the writers are not putting in children's shows and if they did isnt that a MUCH bigger issue overall?
The level of obsessiveness I've seen, especially on Instagram, trying to pinpoint where Bumi was conceived is like, really bizarre.
I don’t see the appeal of it either, but in general, I think people seriously believing in them existing stems from a lot of kids shows and movies actually having “hidden” adult jokes, and in The Road to El Dorado, there actually is a scene where one character is performing oral sex on another character off screen, and then they both come up into view when they’re interrupted.
Outside of taking them seriously, with Avatar I think people just find the idea of being able to pinpoint it funny, like an “Oh, so that’s when they banged / when Bumi was conceived 🥴,” type of thing while just not thinking about it.
But with Chaos Theory, I have some thoughts…
Whether or not people genuinely think the scene exists, I think the reason why people are so obsessed with sex in the fandom is because the characters are legal now.
When it was just Camp Cretaceous, most people in the online fandom were too old for the kids, but with Chaos Theory the camp fam’s legal, so people are taking full advantage of that and being as sexual as possible now that it’s not technically pedophilia anymore. (I say technically because it bordered on it at the start of Chaos Theory. There was so much emphasis on how the characters were minors in CC, so anything said, drawn, or written that was even mildly suggestive was inappropriate and then a lot of the same people switched up immediately seeing their adult designs while knowing nothing about them as adults and going off their characterizations as children.)
(Also, on the stranded point, a lot of people use sex as a stress reliever and to emotionally connect, pair that with the fact they just got over a major conflict in their relationship, are back together after a significant time apart, and there’s no chance of pregnancy (I assume), they likely would’ve had sex if they were sexually active beforehand.)
