“I’ll keep that in mind,” Charlie giggled, casting a look to the MX in the back. She gave the android a smile, even if it wouldn’t smile back.
“Oooh, I love donuts! They’re so adorable and cheerful! Although honestly, I’d prefer to just eat the frosting if I could. What kind are you going to get? I’m not sure what kind I’ll get, only that I want to have sprinkles.”
“That’d be real cheerful, wouldn’t it?” Charlie beams at the idea. “I’ll pitch it in to Mom, but I don’t know if it’ll fly.”
A song came onto the radio, and Charlie began ‘dancing’ in her seat, although she made sure not to be too distracting.
“You’ve always got good music.”
Charlie was probably the single most happy and upbeat person he’s ever met. It was a nice change of pace from the monotony of an MX and the other officers that ran the night shift. Some nights were back to back insanity, others left patrol cars desperate for something to chase. Michael liked some action but not a whole lot.
“They’ve got a lot of choices with sprinkles, don’t worry.” He smiled, pulling into a parking space in front of a quaint little storefront. It had colorful little donut characters on the window and a sign with store hours. The booths were different pastel shades, tables with wooden chairs, and a nice view of the freshly baked pastries beside the cashier.
When Michael got out, so too did his MX. An older woman greeted them from the doorway, holding it open, with a warm smile. “Good evening Mrs Kateb! How are you now?” He inquired and she said something along the lines of I’m doing just fine, come, come! Get out of the cold. in a German accent.
