Howdy!
In anticipation of Our Life: Now & Forever's big demo update, I've wanted to do some posts about my MCs and about the game in general, but also wanted to spare the followers of my main fandom blog (@soleminisanction) the tedium of scrolling through long posts of what are essentially OC blogs. So! Dedicated side-blog it is. My name is Sol, and this is where I plan to post about my OLNF MCs, as well as make other posts about the game and reblogging other people's meta, announcements, fanart, etc.
Quick introductions to the MC squad for the pinned post:
Alvis Norling (top left, they/them in stage 1, he/him by stage 3) - Born intersex and with various congenital disabilities including but not limited to a left leg that had to be amputated below the knee, Alvis was raised gender-neutral so they could choose their pronouns for themself when and if they felt ready. They're quiet, shy and fearful of most things, but also painfully empathetic and caring towards everyone around them. They fall head-over-heels for Qiu the moment they see him, and while Tamarack overwhelms them, it's a good sort of overwhelming and she soon becomes their best friend in the entire world.
Chandra Duskar (top right, she/her) - Born and raised in London, Chandra is a charming, friendly, and sociable perky goth with a love of all things spooky, especially Halloween. She decides the day she arrives in Golden Grove that one day she's going to be the most popular girl in town, and by high school she's well on her way to making that a reality. An incorrigible lesbian, she declares to her mother that she will marry Tamarack the very day that they meet, and dotes on "her Tammy" incandescently from then on. Qiu is her bestest buddy, but that doesn't mean she's going to let them beat her at anything.
Tamara "Mara" Edenshaw (bottom left, she/her in stage 1, she/they by stage 3) - Mara's teachers would tell you that she has an attitude problem. They are... not wrong. Mara is quite often sullen, and abrasive, and blunt, and she doesn't really give a shit what anyone thinks about her as a result, especially not while she's in a bad mood from being forced to move. That said she is also stubborn and loyal and will fight you if you mess with her friends, or with her, or if you just deserve it tbh, she doesn't hold back. Athletic and competitive, she's going to have the interesting experience of just having two really good friends as kids and then looking up one day when they're all in high school and realizing, "Oh no... both of the besties got hot," triggering a bisexual crisis. Fun times!
Quinten "Quinn" Greenwood (bottom right, he/him) - Quinn is a good boy. Clever, polite, sociable, generally just your chill middle-of-the-road kind of average kid. That averageness kind of weighs on him, though, especially when he is fully in love with two kids he considers so remarkable from childhood, and when he's dealing with some unrecognized depression issues as a teenager that make him even harder on himself. Luckily, Qiu and Tamarack both seem to think he's the greatest thing since Halloween candy was invented, and that support helps pull him through.
