It had been a relatively normal day for a certain shopkeeper in Sector 002. People had come in, bought things, and, luckily for him, there had yet to be any attempted robberies. Things were looking up! That was why when a burly, suspicious-looking, man entered the shop, his heart sank. “Can I help you?” he called from his spot behind the counter, trying not to sound afraid.
The man said nothing and walked straight up to the counter, where he got down on his hands and knees. The shopkeeper watched in confusion. Then a tiny man with glowing yellow eyes, dressed in blue and grey robes and complete with a pointy hat, hopped up on the man’s back. He had no idea what was going on.
Veigar, however, had a good idea of what was going on. His job provided him with a good source of income, much better than killing creeps and GP10 items ever had. And with all this money, naturally, he would spend it on powerful items so he could crush the competition!
“Good day, merchant,” said the yordle, bowing. “I have accumulated a good pile of money, so it is time I spend it!”
Veigar brought his overly-large gauntlet to his chin, pondering his purchases. “Well, I suppose I shall go straight for the good stuff! I would like to buy a Deathfire Grasp, if you would.”
The shopkeeper started at him for a moment. He was utterly, utterly confused. “A what?”
Veigar frowned, narrowing his eyes. “A Deathfire Grasp. It increases mana regen and provides ability power while simultaneously possessing an active ability? It looks kind of like a skull?”
The shopkeeper shook his head. Was this some sort of joke? “Nnnnno, we don’t have that.”
Veigar fixed the man with an angry stare. “Fine. What about Kage’s Lucky Pick? Rabbadon’s Deathcap? Void Staff? Sorcerer’s Boots?”
“We have boots,” the shopkeeper said, somewhat uncertainly.
“Then I shall purchase a pair!” said Veigar, slamming a rather large amount of cash down on the counter.
The shopkeeper immediately fetched a pair of brown boots and placed them on the counter near the short man. “Will that be all?”
“Yes!” said Veigar, snatching the boots off the counter and hopping off the large man’s back. “Good day, shopkeeper!” he said as he left.
The shopkeeper looked down at the money. The boots were only worth about $30. This pile had at least five $100 bills in it. Maybe this day wouldn’t be so normal after all.
Outside, Veigar inspected his new boots. “Yes! I can feel my movement speed increasing already!” The man he had used as a stepstool said nothing, but seriously doubted his boss’s mental health.
Coming out of the room had become a gradually frequent occurring for Flora, one she was even beginning to enjoy. The various odds and ends that this strange city held, rather than being afraid of it, she had come to hold an interest for all the foreign things it had to offer, curiosity broadening by the day. The many different shops with giant windows that displayed things she had never once laid eyes upon before were oh-so-captivating, it was a necessity that she stop in front of each and every one of them for at least a full ten minutes before going about her day.
With all the excitement buzzing around it was easy for Flora to become lost in it all, humming to herself quietly as she ambled around, hands clasped behind her back as her eyes scanned the surroundings with wild fascination. For certain her anxieties about this place had become all but faint memories of a bad dream, especially with her recent encounter with those she remembered back at home, she didn't feel quite the need to be so guarded 24/7.
But enough of that, there's something interesting over here! And what's over there?
"AAhh--!!" Before she knew it the wonderful imagery of exotic buildings was replaced with an ugly shade of brown as the taste of dirt filled her cheeks. With a groan Flora picked herself up, nervously brushing the dust off of her dress with now-red palms, looking around for the source of whatever had seemed to trip her.
And lo and behold when she found it, she could barely believe her eyes! Taking a moment to rub them on her sleeve, the young girl then kneeled down, legs still slightly achy from the fall. What she saw in front of her was no stone nor unexplained discrepancy in the street, but a small... dog? Was that what it was? She could barely discern its identity through all the strange, purple armor that it was wearing.
"Goodness I--... I'm terribly sorry, I didn't see you there, little guy... I do hope you aren't hurt, um.."
...A stuffed animal, perhaps? But it seemed to be.. breathing. Nonetheless, Flora reached out a hand as if to try and touch it. "Do you have an owner...?"
