maybe 2025 is when i start using tumblr again
I guess its been since 2017 now so 8 years or so from last post. I think I am just writing this here for myself, though I guess I don't care if others read it. Time flies when you're having fun I suppose! My goal for year is to wrap up PhD, after that it is hard to say. I need to have some kind of purpose/vision quest type thing to figure out next steps. My direction in life has always been guided through some abstract sense, maybe I have to make things more concrete. Recently learned sudarshan kriya yoga- a pranayama technique from sri sri ravi shankar. The concept of parampara tends be present in my mind. Sri Sri Ravi's teacher was Maharshi Mahesh Yogi, whose guru was Brahmananda Saraswati. I have been adding it into my normal morning sessions so ends up making my morning meditations around an hour or more (and that is with me taking some liberties with the number of cycles i am doing of sky). It does seem to add more energy, and my meditations have felt a bit deeper afterwards. The retreat was nice to be at again, it had been since 2020 since I had been in a group setting like that meditating with others so was a nice feeling. I started listening to mmy's translation of the bhagavad gita again as part of my own program. adding in 9th/10th mandalas of rig veda as well. I am probably going to leave it at that here, i think i will reblog something to really be on tumblr again. Lets hope next text post will be when the aliens have taken us away.
who gotta blog in 2017
Under the present brutal and primitive conditions on this planet, every person you meet should be regarded as one of the walking wounded. We have never seen a man or woman not slightly deranged by either anxiety or grief. We have never seen a totally sane human being.
Robert Anton Wilson (via lazyyogi)
"Those who say “violence isn’t the answer” or “violence never solves anything” are the ones whom never were colonized, never raped, never made slaves, never experienced the weight of imperialism squashing their freedom and those whom never have been the non-beneficiaries of privilege."

the whole right and wrong thing tends to throw people off. it is not so clearly defined. it is about acting rightly. and perhaps in some situations to act rightly is to act violently. but this is a dangerous topic as many take this idea of acting rightly and twist it to suit their distorted views. people just need a basis in the absolute (gained through proper meditation) which will guide them to act rightly with nature's support.

A thought of bread neither gives the taste of bread nor fills the stomach. If you want bread, go to the kitchen and get it instead of sitting outside thinking about it. We remain thinking of God, or trying to feel Him, only so long as we lack knowledge of Him, so long as we do not know how to break through the phenomenal field of experience and enter the realm of transcendental bliss, the pure kingdom of the almighty.

i saw a large black bear in the road and it looked like it was going to run at me but then i beeped and it hopped over a fence into a pasture of horses. i wish i took pictures of the horses faces cuz they were rlly freaked out
super moon at mount soma. The moon was in Sagittarius this weekend and directly aspected by Jupiter! Very good stuff!
lul I just read my tea leaves to determine how I will do on my organic test. I saw what looked like a bunch of a's and a 1,3,5-trimethylbenzine aka mesitylene which according to Wikipedia is a colorless liquid with a sweet aromatic odor. Seems like decent signs to me. I hope the tea leaf oracle is correct!
This devotional image of Hanuman celebrates his most famous heroic feat—carrying the Himalayan Mount Vindaya to Rama and Laskmana, who, gravely wounded in combat, were in desperate need of the medicinal herbs that grow on its upper slopes (compare Hanuman Revives Rama and Lakshmana with Medicinal Herbs). Unsure which plants to gather, Hanuman breaks off the entire peak and carries it through the sky back to Rama. On his shoulder is a diminutive image of his Lord. Hanuman’s mighty tail carries his army, which encircles the monkey general and Rama, emblematic of the strategic importance of Hanuman’s alliance to Rama’s victory against Ravana on Lanka. This painting is a reminder of the significant cult devoted to Hanuman that emerged in later periods; his supernatural strength, military prowess, and above all loyalty were qualities much admired, especially by the Rajputs.
jai hanuman!
