Final Reflection

Overall, this project challenged my design making decisions, time management as well as designing under constraints. It was challenging to push my concepts and ideas with such little time but I think I was able to explore a good amount regardless. 

I feel like my approach to designing for the assets and collateral for this project showed what I’ve learnt from previous experiences with other events/festivals. I feel like the skills and techniques that I explored in the first part of this assignment helped me to better understand the design workflow. The second part of this project made me streamline this process under the strict time constraints. 

This project helped me become more confident in my Illustrator and Photoshop skills as it made me use tools and techniques that I wouldn’t normally consider using (eg. illustrator 3D, photoshop DIY mockup). 

I enjoyed doing this project as I think that it has helped me to grow as a designer.

Final WOAP Brochure Collateral

This is my final brochure design. This brochure was the hardest for me to complete out of all the collateral because I struggled with the very specific dimensions and compositions of a brochure.

Brochure version 6

I replaced the 3D imagery with 2D versions to suit my style better, I also added some social media icons on the back.

Final WOAP Directory Collateral

This is my final wayfinding collateral of a map directory, I feel like the bold colours that I used would be eye-catching and easy to read from further away.

Final WOAP Sticker Collateral

This is my final sticker sheet collateral, I really enjoyed making these sticker as well as the custom mockup for them. I think that by having stickers, it is a fun and playful way of participating in an event.

Final WOAP Poster Collateral

This is my final Poster, I think that this could be developed as a part of a series of posters for this event. The design of this poster really helped me to figure out my main assets and style.

Brochure version 5

I added the vertical WOAP text asset to the cover. I think that that it looks better than the horizontal version because it fills up the page a lot better. 

I also added some of the edited imagery to my brochure spread to off set the amount of text in the composition as well.

Making use of my 3D assets

I didn’t want the 3D renders that I made to go to waste so I used image tracing and the half-tone effect to make them flatter and more useable in my current style/theme.

Brochure version 4

I added some of the informational text from the WOAP website to the back of the brochure spread. I also tried testing out the WOAP text asset for my cover.

Brochure version 2 & 3

I refined the map and the overall layout of the composition. I also made the main colour a blue instead of pink to match my other collateral better.

WOAP asset variation

I made a vertical variation of my WOAP type asset so it would fit better on my brochure.

I added a little bite detail and some crumbs around.

Poster version 8 & 9

I moved the WOAP logo to the bottom with all the other logos, added bite marks to the plate and played around with a different colours.

Sticker Sheet Layout version 1

I made a sticker sheet out of the assets that I created. I thought this would be a fun collateral to give away with the brochure. I also included a “draw on me” sticker which encourages festival goers to draw their favourite/dream dish.
