Se machucar - to get hurt, to hurt yourself unintentionally
Se cortar - to cut yourself unintentionally
(Se) Ralar - lit. “to grate”, to scrape. Ralei o cotovelo: I scraped my elbow (as in excoriated)
(Se) Raspar - lit. “to shave”, but as in raspei o joelho: I scraped my knee (somewhat lighter than ralar)
Se arranhar - to scratch yourself
(Se) Furar - lit. “to pierce” (yourself), to prick
Bater, Dar uma batida - to hit something unintentionally, to bump into something, lit. “to give a hit”. Bati a cabeça na janela!: I hit my head on the window! Dei uma batida na mesa: I hit the table.
Dar uma topada - to hit/bump into something unintentionally but with your toes. You know, when you’re peacefully walking around the house but your toe (any of them) finds the corner of that piece of furniture.
Tropeçar - to stumble, to trip on something
Cair - to fall down
Escorregar - to slip
Se desiquilibrar - to lose your balance
Quebrar (um osso, a perna) - to break (a bone, a leg)
Torcer (o tornozelo) - to twist (an ankle)
Levar um tombo - lit. “take a tumble”, fall down hard violently (it can carry a funny connotation too, and can be used with the other verbs too, as in eu tropecei no degrau e levei um tombo: I tripped on the step and fell down.)
Se estatelar, se estrupiar, se esborrachar - the same as levar um tombo pretty hard.
Ralei feio meu braço - I scraped my arm pretty badly (lit. ugly)
Fazer um dodói - to get hurt, as children say :3
Doer - to hurt
Ai!!! - ouch!!! (pronounced as “i”)
And there are more variants of interjections, cussing words included, but this will never end then.
Se cuida! Cuidado! - be careful, watch out.
Grammar: the verbs with the (se) here can be used as reflexive too. They need a direct object (what you hurt), and maybe an indirect object (what caused it, how you did it). They become reflexive when what you hurt is yourself and not a specific part of your body.
Furei meu/o dedo com a agulha - (lit) I pricked my finger with the needle
