very trepedatiously opening comms for the first time yay! i wanna have something to do this summer and i wanna have fun doing it, thus, the collage schtick :P I'm open to taking payment through paypal and if you have any questions at all, my DMs are open! Yay!
I made a mock book cover for a nonexistent novel based on my character Lucas's backstory! I wanted it to have the feeling of a children's fantasy novel.
For this piece, I wanted to try adding more texture and color variation to my art. I'm happy with it, but I think I could still push it further in future pieces.
Textless under the cut.

i love that the main colors of the main characters of knights of guinevere are the secondary colors. orange, green, and purple. with its commentary on disney, it's a great contrast to the primary colors featured in the palettes of disney's first princess and many of its major characters. plus, since primary colors are often associated with simplicity and naivety, the use of the secondary colors highlights a more complex world. it's cool.
guinevere's major color is blue, but she IS designed as a "disney princess." plus, her deep ultramarine has associations with the heavens and nobility. also, purple in this story is the parks' color, and the broken gwen's palette losing purple fits her breaking from their control. so it works.

since del toro's frankenstein has been out for a bit now, i can say that i love how its elizabeth is kind of victor's nemesis. equal in intelligence and unconventional curiosity, far surpassing him in understanding of humanity, opposing him at each turn. really cool way to reinterpret the character.
i don't play dbd but i'm really happy to see the krasue getting some appreciation. it's always been one of my favorite thai folklore ghosts and i've been waiting my whole life for it to work its way into wider knowledge because the whole concept is just so sick.
i'm trying out a new name for hathm. it is the house at hollowmaw, and the acronym stays the same (hathm). i have been waffling for a while on including "hell" in the title when the story has nothing to do with hell-related concepts. there are no demons or hells or heavens in this story, and i feel like "hellmouth" might set the wrong expectations for an audience. so, i'm just trying out this new name for a while, and if i like it, i'll keep it. if i don't, i'll come up with something else. i just don't want to give the impression that this is in any way a hell story when it is absolutely not.
"hollowmaw" refers to the Maw (which for a while has been the canon name of the strange portal in the house's basement that i used to refer to as the hellmouth), and the "hollow" part refers to how it is a portal that does not lead to a new place. like a hollowed out space. hollowmaw may also be the name of the estate because the person who built it was kind of spooky, but i don't know for now. i'm still deciding.
i could also remix the words in the title a little. could be the house at the hollow maw or the house and the hollow maw. again, i'm still deciding. i do like the idea of calling the story hollowmaw for short if you don't want to go for the full acronym though. we will see
