Watching Pyramid Game has convinced me that no genre does gay like straight k-drama thrillers. They got me with The Devil Judge, bullied me with 5-second sapphics in Squid Game, then 5 more second sapphics in All of Us are Dead, shattered me into a million pieces watching Weak Hero Class 1, made me question my sanity watching Bloodhounds, got me again with Beyond Evil, then tried to circle the block with 3-second gays in The 8 Show. I think Pyramid Game might be the show that finishes me off. I've never behaved like this in my life.

Like there's a real queer friend group of girls lying on a roof calling each other ugly. There's no better representation than that.

battle couples has gotta be one of my favorite tropes though. The “you got me?” “Yeah, I got you.” The kiss for good luck. Fighting alongside each other for so long they know every strength and weakness. The dichotomy of being fucking terrifying to their enemies, but so soft with each other. When one is in danger and the other goes feral, protects them at any cost. When everything is over and done, it’s all “let me see where you’re hurt,” and washing off the dirt and blood.

Watched the new trailer of wishing you eternal happiness’ adaptation drama and I hate it so much. It’s exactly as I feared: they turned Jiafu into a scheming schemer, “a resourceful woman who will not stay trapped” (seriously wtf). We cannot have ONE drama without them turning the novel FL with a multifaceted colorful period accurate personality into the most shallow #girlboss. I will not be watching this drama because I know it’s only going to make my blood boil. With drama Jiafu being like this, I can imagine the horror that will be the drama Pei You’an. No, thank you.

This was my face the entire time watching it.

Not only they got the character personalities wrong but they also got the vibes completely wrong. I didn’t like Prisoner of Beauty but that drama at least had some semblance of the novel it adapted but this one is just another #girlboss x down bad man and I’m happy for the people who like this dynamic but this is NOT what WYEH is. I’m so mad I’m getting a headache.

The Eternal Fragrance and Rosy Clouds are full body shudder inducing for me, and the only things that seem set to air soon is Esther's soccer nonsense, Blossoms of Power (which looks arch and shrill), some undoubtedly approved by CCP but snore inducing for me moderns, and some 3 ep (!!!!) yuri nibble I can't make head or tail of.
