#ripkobebryant When I saw that Kobe Bryant had died on a plane today, I hoped it was an internet hoax. But then when certified sources said the same thing, my heart dropped. Not too long after, I read about his thirteen year old daughter being on that same plane and my heart sunk. • Big, juicy tears formed and ran down my cheeks as I prayed for their surviving family. Death sucks. It is sneaky and doesn’t even announces its arrival. It crushes the plans we make and ruins our dreams. And yet, this is our fate and the fate of all those we love and hold dear. • But this is my joy in sorrow and my hope for tomorrow. I am standing on the everlasting Rock. These tears I shed today may not be the last time I will cry. But indeed one day loss, grief, pain and mourning will be a thing of the past. • Is this your HOPE? You receive this HOPE by realizing that Jesus is Lord, and God raised Him from the dead. We all wish we could live forever, that we would never part from those we love. Jesus laid down His life so that we could be victorious through His sacrifice. Even victory over death. Jesus has the eternal life we desire. • My hope isn’t centered on a quote from a self-help book. My hope isn’t centered on 2020 being an amazing year. My hope isn’t centered on things getting better. My hope is in Jesus my Savior. I know that no matter how many loved ones I must part with, He will never leave my side. And even when I take my last breath, He will hold my hand and usher me into the joy of my faithful Master. • I promise if you place your faith in the Son of God, He will hold you fast during all painful partings and sordid troubles. He is holy, powerful, majestic and yet compassionate. Believe on Him, none of those who trust in Him will trust in vain. via Instagram https://ift.tt/2sVH1iy
This quote is pulled from a sermon that pastor Charles Spurgeon had written called, “Heart’s-ease”. I first ran across this quote around the time of my Dad’s passing. It was true then and it’s still true now. #charlesspurgeon #quotes #bedeeplyrooted #wellwateredwomen #instagramforchrist via Instagram https://ift.tt/2uvHpER

“When I try, I fail. When I trust, He succeeds.” Corrie Ten Boom I chose to pick a quote about faith, but what is really circling in my mind is contentment. It’s so easy it is for me to imagine that different circumstances, more of this or less of that, or a life without trials would somehow make me content or satisfied. • I’ve been reading through the book of Ecclesiastes, and admittedly when I read in the past the book seemed sad and morose. But lately I see it’s not as if Solomon painted life darkly rather he paints life accurately. • Usually when we are disappointed and all our hopes are dashed it’s because we put them not in God but in something that was never made to satisfy us. God is the only one that can satisfy the longings of our souls [Psalm 107:9]. Every good thing on Earth was made to point us back to Him. • Until I reach the land of Contentment, I will be rehearsing God’s truth over here. He is my Shepherd and I lack nothing [Ps. 23]. God has given me all things for life and godliness [2 Pt 1:3]. I will enjoy what has been given to me and where God has planted me instead of wanting something else and desiring to be in a different place [Ecc. 6:9]. Because of Christ I can be free from endless, restless want. via Instagram https://ift.tt/2LoLUae
