Snow in Ecruteak (open)
The steam from the cup of hot tea had finally dissipated after 10 minutes of letting it cool down. Though the weather outside was numbingly freezing, Whitney couldn’t quite handle the scorching hot tea just yet. After a brief chat with the hostess, she found that her beverage was at just the right temperature for her to enjoy. As she brought the cup to her lips, she was interrupted by the light laughter of the hostess as someone entered the building.
It was hard to contain her laughter when the blonde headed male came into view. She wasn’t that surprised to see him enter the teahouse she so rarely made a visit to, but she definitely did not expect him in this kind of attire.
"Nice pajamas!" Was the only thing she could say while she stifled her giggling. Some greeting that was. It took her some time to regain her composure before she could take a sip of her tea without choking on it.
The Goldenrod gym leader had made plans to see an acquaintance earlier, only to have them cancelled due to the other party’s lack of time management skills. Although the cancellation was disappointing, Whitney didn’t seem to mind that much, as it gave her an opportunity to check out various places in Ecruteak that she didn’t have much of a chance to visit, maybe even pay a visit to the gym leader. At least she could cross that part off her list of things to do on her free day.
"What are you even doing dressed like that?" If she had to guess, it was part of a prank pulled by one of his Pokemon. That, or he might have locked himself out of the house while getting the mail or paper. That sort of thing happened to people more often than it should. "Also, it’s nice to see you!" She added, hoping he wouldn’t be too offended. "I didn’t exactly expect to like this though."
Oh, thank goodness. Whitney was certainly one of the people he would have preferred to see in this situation. Oh, man, imagine if Pryce had been here! Or Falkner! He'd never have heard the end of it.
"Well, I... I'm glad you like 'em!"
"It's nice to see you too. You have no idea how glad I am that you're you and not someone else... I like these pajamas, but, well, it's not every day a gym leader goes for a walk in such attire, right?"
He laughed it off, walking over to her table and tilting his head a tiny amount.
"Would it be alright if I sat here? It'll probably be a while before my sisters let me back in..."
"Remind me to never switch up their shampoos ever again. Just in case that comes up."
