The Birth of Venus (1888) by Adolf Hirémy-Hirschl
ONCE AGAIN A CRAZY PULL
Crazy fuckin pull rn
My three spirit guides, swallows, the seahorse, and the mighty jaguar
Venus by Hans Thoma
🐚 Beach magic 🐚
As summer is approaching, I thought I'd post about my witchcraft practice at the beach...
🐚 Use the sea water to cleanse your body and soul. Breathe in deeply, dive in, and spend a few seconds underwater to recite in your head "I'm getting rid of anything that isn't serving me, and release it all to the ocean".
🐚 Draw sigils onto the sand. It's a simple one, but can be quite powerful, especially if you keep on drawing it repeatedly as you sunbathe.
🐚 Whisper a protection spell as you apply suncream. This isn't just about protecting yourself from UV light. This simple act of self-care can ward off much more than that.
🐚 Collect shells for your altar. I think this one is my favourite. I'm always on the lookout for small items with strong significance to decorate my altar. Shells are the perfect items to have in preparation for Midsummer.
🐚 Sand has a strong association to time. Use it for any spells that require you to slow down and be in the present. Depending on where you are, the sand between your hands may be a thousand years old!
🐚 Meditate at sunrise, facing towards the ocean. Repeat wishes and manifestations while breathing in the salt air. If you ask something of the waves, you might just get it.
🐚 Keep ocean water in a jar, and only use it for your most potent spells. Ocean water is associated with vastness, fear, power, life, protection. Use it wisely.
Haven't spent the last few nights burning or
Writing my wishes but that's okay I think with this intention and my own spell I'm going to write and burn where and when I can :)

Everyday Ways I Honour Aphrodite
(NSFW warning)
🌹Roses, roses, roses. Rose soap, rose lip balm, rose hand cream, rose lotion, rose perfume, rose oil on my pillow before falling asleep, rose candles, rose incense, roses in my garden, rosewater toner, rose face mist, rose shower gel, dried roses in the bath... Just roses everywhere you can fit them.
🌹Reading romantic books and poetry, watching romance films
🌹 Reading books and poetry about Aphrodite
🌹Making myself feel beautiful with pretty jewellery and makeup. Even just a swipe of tinted lip balm boosts my confidence (I use French Girl Rose Noir). I try to wear at least a little bit of makeup or jewellery daily, even if it's just a pair of studs or a subtle lipstick
🌹 Even if I'm just staying at home all day I'll spray perfume and put on jewellery and do lipstick just to feel sensual while I'm lounging around playing Animal Crossing (currently wearing a comfy embroidered nightie, small gold hoops, a pretty bracelet and a little bit of YSL Orange Perfecto lipstick as I write this)

💕 Spellworks: Various sex magic spells
It's a lovely Friday! and I planned some sex magic, so here's what I did, including a few spells.
As always, this is an 18+ post, and generally I do not want minors interacting with posts like these.
🌹💞Rose Water
Another post of magical waters. This one is similar to that of Angel's Water, but might be more accessible to people.
What is Rose Water?
Rose Water is a magical water made from infused rose petals. Because of the associations with roses being romance, beauty, love, sexuality, sensuality, etc. Rose Water is used in glamour and love magic spells as a way to attract, enchant, and strengthen love and beauty.
Rose Water is popular in the health and beauty aspect, being used as a skin care product like a cleanser. And of course a s a perfume.
How do I make Rose Water?
There's three methods to making Rose Water, figure out which one might be best for you! Make sure your roses are organic and haven't used pesticide.
Method 1: Place a heat proof bowl in a pot, place your rose petals around that bowl into the pot, and pour water into the pot, avoid pouring into your bowl. Bring it to a boil and then down to a simmer. Place your pot's lid on upside down and place ice cubes on top. This makes it so the evaporated water goes up and meets the cold environment, and turns back into liquid (distilled water) and drips right down into your bowl, creating Rose Water.
Place more ice cubes when they melt, you can dap the melted ice cubes away with a rag. When the colour of the roses are gone, you're done! Strain into a bottle. Should last about a month.
Method 2: Simply boil distilled water and roses together until the petals loose their colour, strain into a bottle for use. More roses mean stronger smell and more water means lesser smell. Should last for about half a year.
Method 3: Rub your rose petals to bruise them a bit, and place them in a tight sealed glass container with cold water. Let it sit for 24 hours in your fridge. Strain in the morning. Should last a month.
Where do I use Rose water?
Rose water is typically used a s face toner, body spray, hair spray, or cleanser for the wearer. This is why it's important that the rose are organic. Rose Water can also be used for potions and consumptions in love magic.
It can also be used as a room spray or for your clothes, Rose Water is used heavily in glamour magic.
So, every Winter Solstice, I do a simmer pot to enliven my space, cleanse the air, and enhance happiness and luck for the coldest months of the year. It's also a solid offering to my spirits, giving them a nice boost of energy at this time of year.
I always try to make the simmer pot edible also. I like to be able to drink the results!
This year, I'm switching things up a little bit. I'm gonna be experimenting with ingredients I don't usually use to see how it goes! I'm also doing this in the morning instead of in the afternoon to make more time for feast preparations!
Here's what I'm putting in my pot and what it's for:
Enough water to float everything safely, adding more as it evaporates throughout the morning
Sliced apples - Love, happiness, luck
Sliced oranges - Happiness, sun energy
Lemon juice - Cleansing, joy, sun energy
Cranberries - Health, protection from illness and misfortune
Cinnamon sticks - Happiness, fire energy, wealth
Cloves - Warmth, fire energy, luck, protection from misfortune
Brown sugar - Sweetness, happiness, love
If I wasn't planning on drinking some of this, I'd include pine needles -- I don't love the taste, and I want to enjoy this!
The idea is to fill a pot with water and gently add all the ingredients. Then, bring it up to heat and let it simmer on low heat for as long as I like, adding water as it evaporates. Once it's nice and steamy, I'll take a cup of it and carry it around my apartment to flick small amounts of fragrant water here and there.
And even if it's cold, I'll open up the windows for a few minutes to let the air flow. It's so important to keep air moving in the winter; otherwise, it gets stagnant and stale, and it makes me feel worse.
I don't usually, but I think this year, I'll also use it as a wash for my front door. We could definitely use a boost in luck and protection and joy for next year!
