"I.. er, I try." Don’t blush, do that human thing and blush like an idi-… And he blushed.
"I'm sure the cat is very thankful you came along, hm?" The cat wasn't the only one, but he didn't need to know that.

"I'm sure the cat is very thankful you came along, hm?" The cat wasn't the only one, but he didn't need to know that.
"I may have accidentally locked someone’s cat in the garage… But I got her out… And gave it food, too…"
"I think we have the citizen of the day, right here."
He nearly jumped out of his skin at the touch, but hearing her voice made it all better. He turned around and grinned like a madman. "…Hey!" He held his hand against her cheek, making sure she was really there.
"I.. I missed you."
Emma leaned against his touching, smiling softly. "I missed you too, Roger. So, so much." She rose up onto her tiptoes and wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly.
analienandahalf replied to your post: "Boo." Emma smiled, watching her friend’s face.
"Hi sweetie." She laughed and hugged her close friend. “How’s everything been?"
Nadi smiled and hugged Emma back. “Everything has been good. I have a baby. How have you been?"
"You do? Congratulations!" Emma shrugged. "I've been alright. Had to go out of town for a bunch of art conferences."

"Hello!" Lily grinned, waving at the person who just walked into the waiting room. "Are you here to visit a patient?"
"…" Something was off in the force. Okay, it wasn’t the force. But Roger liked to relate whatever feelings he got with whatever nerdy things were on his mind.Â
"The itsy bitsy spider, went up the water spout," Emma sang quietly from behind him, gently walking her fingers up his spine. "Down came the rain and washed the spider out..." She trailed her fingers back down his spine, grinning.
"Emmaline, you seem a bit different from what I remember..." He noticed the subtle changes in her face, from aging. "Have you cut your hair?" He teased.
"Yes, Hannibal. That's exactly right." She grinned and didn't hesitate in hugging her old friend. "God, it feels like it's been decades."

"Now there's a face I haven't seen in a while."
Th-thanks..Â
Anytime.
What's her name?
…You really think I’d be a good d-dad?
Of course. You're perfect dad material, babe.
The thought kinda crossed my mind…
I think you should. It's your job to protect your charge, right? Plus, you'd be a good dad.
[If there was anyone Roger could talk to, it was Emma.]
I … I found my charge. [He swallowed.] The witch I’m meant to protect. And… well… she’s just a little girl, seven years old, I think. And… She’s… She lives in… my old foster home.
[The news made her eyebrows shoot up.] Really? Are you...are you gonna adopt her?
[He couldn't sleep. He couldn't stop thinking about his charge, he was sure he had to find her and watch over her, but she was in a foster home. More specifically, his old foster home. He knew that place wasn't all that good, the people there weren't perfect role models, they were downright awful. He had to figure out a way to get her out of there, but the only way he knew was to adopt her. Roger wanted to be a father so badly, but he didn't want anyone to know. But could be be a father and a whitelighter for this little girl? Double the responsibility...
He turned his head suddenly to see someone in his bedroom. ]
..Hey.Â
Hey there. [Emma gave him a small smile as she warily made her way into the bed, slowly getting under the covers next to him. She rested her hands on his chest and her chin on her hands, looking up at him.] You okay? You look very...conflicted.
[He nodded slowly and hugged her, then pulled back.] You want something? Anything?
[She almost clung to him, shrugging.] Just having you here is enough for me.
[He nodded slowly.] …I m-mean… ho-how you feel.
I feel...kinda numb. I guess that comes with being half-dead, though. I dunno, I'll be better after a few days, I suspect.
[The one thing Nick didn't like, was being lectured. He was too old, too tired, too everything to ever want to hear something he had heard a million times by millions of others in his life. He even heard it from himself. He looked down at the ground as she finished speaking and started to leave. Although, suddenly, he flashed out of the bathroom to chase after her and grabbed onto her shoulder.]
I know you’re just trying to be helpful, [His voice was low, gruff, and a bit angry.] …But I don’t need to hear words I’ve heard over and over again over multiple centuries.
[he was being an ass, he knew it. He even felt bad for letting out his frustrations on her. It wasn't even her he was mad at. But the guilt that weighed down on him came out as anger suddenly, and it was being unnecessarily aimed at Lily.]
Thank you, though. [His hand dropped and he took a step back and flashed back into his bedroom.]
She didn't react to his words. Lily knew that he was taking his anger out on her and she just let him. At least he was even showing emotion. Though she would've appreciated him stopping her halfway through; the alien didn't like wasting her time. His words, however, irritated her a bit and her eyebrow arched.
"You obviously do if you still aren't listening."
Her tone didn't insinuate that it was meant as an insult, simply an observation. Still, she wouldn't be surprised if he took it with some offense. "Have a nice evening," she murmured though he was already gone. Then she opened the door and disappeared into the night.
[He swallowed hard.] Y-You want t-to talk about it a-at all?
There isn't much to talk about, really. She force-fed me her blood, snapped my neck, and that was that. I'm just glad that you're here with me.
