i was afraid this would happen so i can’t say i’m too shocked 🫩

there’s just so much incompetence all around. from valko’s “here damn” release announcement to assuming that his release would make the hundreds of legitimate complaints about the game disappear. there’s just so much naivety and arrogance and avarice into infold’s strategy that as long as they’re producing something, everything is unicorns and rainbows, and fans will forget their concerns about the game and other characters they’ve been attached to for 2.5 years.

that they’d choose to remove valko entirely speaks to just how irate some players were, but god. i just can’t fathom it. if they were working on him for as long as they claimed, surely they’re losing so much time and effort and money and so many resources? and what about the fans who weren’t irate and genuinely anticipated his release? they’ve pumped out all this promo and purposefully gotten players attached to him just to pull the rug out from under them. the people they were planning to siphon money from like crazy upon his release

why not continue with his release and earnestly commit to fixing the game’s other problems? why not devote equal time and resources to all love interests? why not prioritize the main story over sims 3 gameplay no offense cause it was cute? if players were concerned about him ruining their pulls, why not adjust the pulling system? every aspect of this situation had a solution. but when god created the lads leadership team he dropped their vials of competence and hoped no one would notice (we noticed.)

and last but not least i’m a really hard sell on the argument that his character and story elements presented thus far were “too dark” because…look at the other stuff in this game

i absolutely can’t believe they canceled valko’s launch but they’ll keep the home system that no one really uses, takes up a bunch of space and overheats every device that uses it for longer than 10 minutes, yet refuse to do anything about the the fact that the game is absolutely unplayable longterm because theres nothing to do. they won’t reset abyssal chaos or unicorn operations, they won’t give us new opportunities to farm diamonds outside of daily tasks, they don’t care to continue tender moments, bond stories or anecdotes. the chocolate shop is completely useless, the main story updates twice a year and the constant banners and reruns are completely exhausting.

like at this point they’re genuinely taking the piss what tf do you mean you completely scrapped the only thing that brought any fresh wind into this otherwise really monotone game.

I understand that they have to get money to further develop the game but if it’s for completely useless stuff that no one asked for, nor to develop the MAIN STORY or the combat aspect of the game that are literally the main things that even make this a game in the first place, what even is the point

Istg the biggest problem that most people find in Valko himself is the fact that his trailer and whole character is nothing special. No originality outside looks. Enemies to lovers plot they were going for? Sylus. Same biochemical soup thing? Caleb (closest I got). Trailer? There are people who compiled the moments or shots that are so similar they're right to call out PPG for reheating everyone's nachos.

My main problem with him is his release date. No shade to the guy, but he got screwed over by the company. Them releasing him during the most kettle boiling moment in LADS history is what triggered a lot of people. Like we pity him, if he was released at any other time, the majority would like him or acknowledge him and move on with their respective LIs. My main issue is the fact that Sylus and Caleb's main story is still not fully in the game! Almost two to three year old characters and still no amount of MS that matches the OG!three.

My own reason why I'm mad: STINGY COMPANY WHO SHOT THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT BY RELEASING NEW SHIT INSTEAD OF FIXING THEIR GAME FIRST, NO WAY TO FARM DIAS, AND A LOT OF THE PREVIOUS LI CARDS GOT PAYWALLED HARDER THAN ME TRYING TO GET S6 LUUK.

alright, i'll be the one to say it. ao3 and tumblr becoming "mainstream" did so much damage to the community and the writers. i have seen loads of videos and posts about:

1. people hating on writers and fics. writing is something we do for free and for fun. if you stumble upon a fanfic that isn't necessarily your cup of tea or you just don't like, scroll. dont read it. literally leave their page. you don't know if this could be the author's first work that they're so excited about, you dont know if the language they're writing in isn't their first language, you dont know that the writer could be a literal teen and loads of other reasons. fanfictions don't HAVE to be perfect. you write what you want to write because we do it for fun and enjoyment and we want to share that to the world. seriously, what is the wrong with that?..

2. x reader consumers getting WAY too entitled. the number of tiktoks i've seen that say "i run a strict program when it comes to reading fanfics." girl you aint running shit. this is FAN FICTION you're reading. F A N F I C T I O N. there is no denying that most fanfiction writes are beyond talented but just because you read one fanfic that exceeds your expectations doesn't give you the right to talk down on others that don't. people have their own personal writing style, their way of doing things and you talking shit on that isn't right.

at the end of the day, we are all humans, reading and writing is what we do and what we're meant to do. and for you to talk shit about a person WRITING is so insane. we are humans. not some robots that you can tell what to do so you can consume it.

i've seen so so many authors take down their fanfics and losing all motivation to write because of a hate comment. DONT LIKE DONT READ‼️
