fuck google docs so fucking much

i've just lost hundreds of docs and pdfs and i'm beyond pissed right now

they're all permanently gone

google drive is a mess sometimes with its storage things and if you're unlucky it might delete some of your files and you won't realise until it's well past the point where they won't be in 'trash' anymore and you're fucked

all is not lost however!

if you're on drive via browser, hit the little ? in a circle next to the settings cog and select "help"

search for "file recovery"

it'll show you the ways to try and recover your files on pc, android, and mac etc

these don't matter

you need to scroll down to the bottom and just hit the "contact us"

you'll be logged out automatically

log back in

click the little box to give google permission to attempt to restore your files for that account

click "submit"

give them some time to work but it's an automatic process

i've got most of my files back in less than 10 minutes

all is not lost! rejoice!

fantastic update, our restaurant has lifted its smoking ban and is now smoking-optional. you may continue to not smoke inside if you'd prefer, but we're excited to now offer our guests the freedom to make everyone else in this enclosed airspace inhale whatever particulates they'd like to release via combustion. if you have like some kind of health problem or whatever, you are totally welcome to choose not to smoke. we're very excited to be getting back to normal!

Getting to know Johnlock writers

Every day I stumble on a Johnlock writer who’s been writing for years, or one who just started. Most of my fics beg readers to give recs in the comments box, and they’ve given me dozens of wonderful fics.

I started an AO3 collection (open, unmoderated) to introduce readers to authors new to them. https://archiveofourown.org/collections/Johnlock_ficlets

Author’s choice: for each writer, ONE one-shot ficlet under 1500 words in your catalogue that serves as your calling-card. Short fics are easier to start off with than a magnum opus, but often lead readers to multi-chapter fics.

Choose your fic, open it to edit, go down to “post to collections,” type in Johnlock_ficlets, accept the Getting to know Johnlock writers       (Johnlock_ficlets) tag, and hit “post.”

Tagging writers new and er not new. DO PLEASE REBLOG! and TAG YOUR JOHNLOCK WRITERS

UPDATE! for everyone who asked:

“Oh my best beloveds,” take the word count limit as a suggestion, not a bludgeon.

Do you not write ficlets? Insert your shortest one-shot that you think works as your calling-card.

Do you post all your ficlets as chapters in one mammoth-fic that is really a collection of ficlets? Insert that!

Is your calling card really 2K or 3K words? Put that in. The parameters weren’t meant to exclude anyone, just to give readers a place to taste small bites of Johnlock writing they didn’t know before.
