i wasn’t sure if anything was real and you were just a figment of my incredibly strange imagination like i had just made you up and you’d vanish when the sun rose and i wasn’t feeling like i deserved to be happy about anything but it was past 8am and the sun had already risen and i rolled over onto my left side and there you were and i didn’t feel as crazy as i normally do and i wonder if you knew what it felt like to be insane but have that disappear when someone held your hand and i’ve been so unsure about everything in my entire life until i saw how dilated your pupils got when you looked at me and i melted a bit (entirely) inside but i didn’t want you to know so i tried to play it cool but i think you could tell that i had fallen as far down as i could ever get but you still picked me up off of the ground and held me in your arms and calmed every uneasy nerve in my body like no one has ever done before and because of you i think i’m beginning to know what it feels like to be alive because the air i breathe isn’t the same anymore and i can occasionally look other people in the eyes and i can do all of these things i’ve never done before and feel all of these things i’ve never felt before and i just wanted to say thank you without using all of these words but telling you with my eyes isn’t working yet so i will just have to wait until the day that we can converse without saying anything at all but i’m not too worried because you already know the worst of me but still stay past sunrise
