Parrish stayed silent for a while, not sure what would the correct sentences would be in this case. Maybe Andreas was a supernatural, but if he was then why was he questioning this? “Then doctor, if I may ask, what do you really think happened here? You sound skeptic.”

Andres watched the body for a moment, as if lost in thought, and suddenly looked up at Parish. “I always sound skeptical.” He smiled softly, and then shrugged. “I am not in my lab, so I cannot hope to be really accurate. I mean, this could not possibly be a werewolf attack, right? Those don’t exist, do they, deputy Parrish?”

A smartass, he thought. “Well I can at least tell that you are lying to me.” He said and then looked at him seriously. “Doing my own investigations. This is close to my private property after all.” He responded. “Or should I not bother?”

“You should leave investigating to the proper authorities...” He stated, lifting an eyebrow at the werewolf. “Lest you compromise evidence.” Andreas stared at Derek for a moment. “I am not lying. Do you want me to show you my license? I’m a medical examiner.”

“You mean small towns.” He corrected him. “We are surrounded by a large amount of woods, especially the Hale property.” He informed him. He was asking the proper questions, yet for some reason, he thought the doctor already had his answers.

“Small to you, perhaps...” He shook his head. “I was born in a place where woods like these surrounded every house... And every house was at least a couple of miles away from each other.” He clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. “I believe the most correct expression is a densely populated place like beacon hills. In my home town, there were more bears than humans.” He tipped his head to the side. “But this not match a bear’s m.o, although it was something as large as one.”

“Cop yes, but not a doctor.” He replied without any hesitation. They had had like three medical examinators, all of them had been top notch and the only trouble they caused was leaving their job. “Covering up a murder?” He asked, he was interested in that theory. “What makes you think that doctor?”

“I am thinking of all the options here, deputy...” He hummed pensively, running a hand through his hair. “Animal attacks are common enough... But how many wild animals really are there, so close to a big town like Beacon Hills?” He shook his head. “Or rather, how many big wild animals that could kill someone in this fashion are there in the surrounding area?”

“But they eat for pleasure as well, don’t they?” He asked him, trying to figure the man out. “Did you call the police?” He asked him. “You don’t look like you are looking for a problem.”

“Don’t we all?” Andreas tipped his head to the side. “Well, technically, I am with the police. But yes, I have called this in already, just waiting for them to show up.” He looked over at the treeline, and hummed. “And you, Derek? What could you possibly be doing at night, near a recently deceased person?”

“You work for us, so I don’t see why.” He said as he watched the corpse. He knew what it was before he was even told about it. He even wondered if Andreas knew about him or the supernatural in general. He did have that weird scent going on. “You seem bored by it.” He claimed.

Andreas looked up at Jordan, lifting both his eyebrows in disbelief at the other’s naivety. “There never was a single respectful doctor or cop who turned out to be a cold-blooded killer...” He deadpanned, searching his told for the thermometer, so he could evaluate the time of death. “I am.” Andreas admitted. “There are only two ways this case can go. It was either an animal attack, or someone trying to cover up a murder.” He shrugged. He read the thermometer, and was thoughtful for a moment. “They died between 12AM and 2AM, so... around two to four hours ago. Sadly I am not an expert on animal behavior. I could give you my amateur opinion, if you’d like, though.”

“I’m aware you are not the killer doctor.” He said as he looked at the body. “What was the cause of death?”

“Uh, when I called this in, they seemed to be pretty quick to make assumptions...” He eyed one of the other officers at the scene, before turning his attention back to Jordan. “The victim seemed to have been, drum roll please.... attacked by a large animal.” He shook his head to the side. “Their neck was bitten, severing the carotid.... Several bite marks and gashes that seem to match with claws...”

“I’m smart enough to know that wendigos eat their victims, not let them stay dead.” He said as he looked at him.

Andreas scratched his chin, and sighed. “You’d be surprised with how many wendigos kill for pleasure....” He gave him a toothy mischievous smile, before crouching near the body. “The body hasn’t been here for long. I might have interrupted someone...”

“Now... That is a mess.” Andreas mumbled, as he looked down at the bloody corpse. “It was like that when I found it.” He added, with a shrug, looking up at the newcomer.

Andreas blinked as he pulled the latex gloves off, tipping his head to the side. “Are you lost, or did you actually intend to come to the morgue...?”

“Technicalities.” Sink splashed the water as he looked over to the other. “Thats just how I normally look. I’m not broken. And if I ws I’ve pieced myself back together a long time ago.” Shaking his head sink declined. “I feel that I’ve had enough of your metaphors for tonight.”

“Poetic...” He scoffed, and smiled a the other. “Is that your way of saying you want me to go away?” He asked, swimming closer to Sink, until he was face to face with the kitsune. Andreas looked down at him, and chewed on the inside of his cheek pensively. “I’m sure you wouldn’t be so cruel as to dismiss me in such a way...”

He was pensive for a moment, and looked down, scanning the book. “Werewolves? I’d argue there are plenty more interesting creatures out there to write about...”
