( josh heuston , cis male, he/him) ✧ ⸻ was that ANDRE REID walking through the doors of the arconia this morning? i heard they just moved in to 701 from BROOKLYN, NYC. the 30 year old works as a/an PARANORMAL INVESTIGATOR & TRUE CRIME PODCASTER seems like they’d be CURIOUS but also a little bit STUBBORN. whenever i see ANDRE, i always think of SNEAKING INTO ABANDONED BUILDINGS AT 2AM, WALKING ON BEATS THROUGH THIS THING WE CALL LIFE, GENTLE EYES BUT A SHARP TONGUE.
BACKSTORY:
death mention tw
Andre Reid was born and raised in Brooklyn, where the city’s endless rhythm of sirens, late-night stories, and hidden corners first sparked his fascination with the unexplained. That and it might've also been the endless reruns of The Twilight Zone his mother often had playing in the background. Growing up in a tight-knit family with a mom who worked double shifts as a nurse and a dad who collected vinyl records like they held secrets, Andre learned early that some truths hide in plain sight—and others whisper from the shadows.
As a kid, he was the one dragging friends into “adventures” through old subway tunnels or sneaking into boarded-up warehouses after dark, flashlight in hand, heart racing with equal parts thrill and terror. Those nights shaped him: the rush of discovery, the quiet moments when the air felt thick with something watching back. He never quite shook the feeling that the world was layered—ordinary life on top, something wilder and weirder just beneath.
After college, where he majored in journalism but minored in “questioning everything", Andre turned that curiosity into a career. He started as a freelance writer covering local mysteries and cold cases, but it wasn’t long before he realized the stories that kept him up at night blended the grim facts of true crime with the eerie possibility of the paranormal. So, he launched his podcast, Echoes in the Static, a weekly dive into unsolved murders, haunted sites, and the thin line where tragedy meets the supernatural. His style? Sharp, witty narration laced with dry humor, a voice that draws you in like he’s telling the story over drinks at 2 a.m., and a stubborn refusal to accept “that’s just how it is” as an answer.
His passion for the unknown soared with the passing of his mother, desperate to find a link to still be connected with her. Eventually he did make peace with it, understood that it was just her time, and even though he denies it (even to himself) there is a part of him that still does look for her in ever spirit he comes in contact with. But when he isn't yapping about, or search for, ghosts/ true crime stories then the guy is just your typical party goer. He can be spotted having a cocktail at the bar, exploring the city, or huddled up in a blanket on the couch zoning out to whatever is playing on Netflix.
PERSONALITY:
He is effortlessly charming—flirty in that playful, no-pressure way that leaves people laughing and wondering if he’s serious half the time. He’ll tease you about your “clearly haunted” coffee maker one minute, then listen intently the next when you mention the weird noise in your hallway. Or if you just need a shoulder to lean on. Gentle eyes that make someone feel seen, a sharp tongue that keeps things lively, and a habit of walking through life like every beat has a hidden rhythm worth chasing. He's laid back, even when he's in a haunted building.
CONNECTIONS:
Best Friend: James has been his best friend for as far back as he can remember. He appreciates that the guy doesn't mind his ramblings about the paranormal and he's absolutely a ride or die for him.
