I’ve found a new appreciation for dirt under my nails, callouses, and hand wounds lately. I’ve always had an affinity for the ‘ruff n tumble’ aesthetic, whether ripped jeans or patinated leather, but the more I’m stuck tapping at a keyboard in a windowless office the more I long for my filthy camp clothes, smoky hair, and duct tape bandages. I’d rather grind than glide. Rather scrape than skim. Rather crawl than coast.

I'll take an oddly-framed, weirdly-timed, headless-dog self portrait on film over a flawless cell phone s e l f i e any day. Soviet built some 60 years ago, the Lubitel 2 with Delta 3200 pulled to ISO 400 developed in Kodak HC-110 using dilution B for 6 minutes.

Mount Rainier at night.

Fujifilm FP-100C shot on a Mamiya RB67 with 64mm f/4.5. This is a twelve and a half minute exposure under a full moon on Saturday, September 26th, 2015.

I never thought instant film would hold up for that long of an exposure. Negative reclaimed with bleach and scanned with Epson V500.
