Everywhere he went today, Remus swore he saw flashes of pink. Normally, the colour pink didn’t stand out to him too much, but for it seemed to be within eye sight for just a moment before disappearing. He had an idea of what it could be, but didn’t focus on it for too long, he had other things to attend to. Recently he had been volunteering at the Magical Menagerie to play with the cats, it was a way for him to play with cats without actually owning one, his flat didn’t allow pets and he knew his friend Peter was very afraid of them, so he settled with playing with cats that were up for adoption. He spent an hour at the Menagerie, playing with various animals and making conversation with the employee before heading back home, a smile on his face as he entered Diagon Alley. He had only taken two steps before his legs hit something. He glanced down, and there was the pink that had caught his eye all day. “Nymphadora Tonks,” He said with a smile, bending down to pick the child up, “You crazy little monster. Where’s your mother? You know it’s not safe to run off on your own.” Glancing around, Remus caught sight of Andromeda, of course she wasn’t too far away. “Hey, I found this, do you want her back or do you have other things to do? I can keep an eye on her for a bit.”
There had been a time that Dora’s running off would have induced a lot more panic in Andromeda’s voice but the young mother had learned that panicking did her no good, not to mention that Dora had learned to not ever run too far. Unless, as was the case this time, she saw someone she knew. Andromeda grinned as she saw whose legs Dora had crashed into as Remus lifted her into his arms. “She’s comin’ but she’s slow,” Dora was saying as Andromeda closed the distance between them. “Keep her,” Andromeda said with a smirk. “She doesn’t listen to me anyway. Maybe you’ll have better luck.” Dora giggled. “Yeah, keep me!”
