Of course fucked up a bit, but don’t care much. It’s not that much left on this model.

Still waiting for the tools therefore I switched to the Ferrari F12 project. Trying to make open doors. It was a week of trial and error until I get ONE door opening. First time doing it, thank to my car-modeling community for the help and advices. Here’s the result.

Since then I added a couple of magnets to have a better adherence of a mechanism and started to repeat it for the passenger door.

Done with the decals finally

It wasn’t too hard.

Now I’m waiting for the clamps 🗜 to start clear coating.

The reason why do I need clamps is that I want to paint all wings at the same time. And the only way I see to do it is to fix wing in a clamp. But I need approximately 10 pcs of them. 😅

A little progress every day

Put decals on the front part of the car. Enjoy seeing how the model overgrows with the details.

I know that I’m not a fast modeler. Doing a little bit every day or every other day. But it’s very important for me to feel the progress on the model. So recently I have painted the different parts of body with multiple layers. Some small fixes left, but the painting is over so far.

Due to I destroyed one of the gold line decals I decided to paint them by my own. It took me couple of days to do. But that is the final result.

The next step is to put racing decals on the body and then apply clear coat to all of the parts including wings, spoilers etc.

I don’t really like to work on two projects simultaneously, but this is what I do, when one of the projects stuck.

So this is my prototype I looked to build my Ferrari F12 model

I am a fan of red Ferraris, but some colors are really cool and having some color diversity on my shelves is also cool.

The model kit comes with the separate doors and hood and I honestly thought that you can open and close the doors. But after carefully reading the instruction I realized that door can be either opened or closed, so I will come up with some modifications. But before I did some fitment and sanding.

Yes, I’m still learning, but what annoying is that I cannot assemble a model without “adventure”. As you could see from my previous projects, my weakest side is body painting. And yet again. I put lacquer paint on top of the acrylic paint and coated everything with 2k clear varnish. And here you go…

I’m not even disappointed, tired of it. Just accept the learning. The worst part is that the paint is over and I had to order the new one. This time I ordered the complete set of lacquer paints, I won’t different chemicals anymore (☝️ learned). Waiting for the order is about a week. Could be longer. While waiting, washed and primed everything again.

But I need to keep myself busy. So I am starting a new project.

Finished with the engine. Even though my model will be a curb side and most of the engine details will be hidden, it was a pleasure to assemble and paint it. Like the complicated suspension setup and multiple colors used for painting including up to 3 layers for 1 part.

I’ve got some progress in my formula Lola T90-50 project. Here is the cockpit with additional racing seat belts. The steering wheel column was broken in the kit so I made it out of melted sprue. The dashboard was glued with Tamiya mark fit super strong. I was a bit afraid that decal liquid will dilute the acrylic paint, but luckily could avoid it. It seems a bit too much work for such a small piece of a model. Always like that when you try to do best you can.

A little bit off-topic.

Decided to prepare for my next project which I should start in a few weeks hopefully.

The kit I bought came with the absolutely ugly wheels. So I started to look for the inspiration in the internet and found pretty awesome wheels.

And really want them for my model, but couldn’t find the 3d model. So I just designed them by myself.

Now I need to print them. I’m pretty proud of myself.

Lola T90-50

A little prehistory of this project. I bought this box precisely between finishing my yellow Ferrari Italia and starting working Nissan Skyline GTR. I ordered Nissan from Japan and it took some while for the delivery. So I wanted to get myself busy and bought something cheap and simple but still should look beautiful on the shelf. For me all open-wheelers look cool!

I worked on it about 1-2 weeks and then postponed when Nissan has arrived. And now I want to get it done. The kit appeared quite bad quality and needed a lot of test fitment, putty work, more adjustments, more fitments and more putty.

After about a week if work I could primed it with the first developing primer coat. Which showed several imperfections.

This is the final result of my work on the Aoshima Nissan Top Secret BNR34 Skyline GT-R '02. It appeared to be a big challenge for me and I'm not happy with it. But I learned a lot and looking forward with a hope to be better at scale modeling. Thanks to everuyone who commented, followed, liked my work. I will continue to produce this kind of content and maybe complement it with the video if there will be interest in it.
